The London Jukebox is an intimate venue and restaurant located on Angel's Upper Street. They specialise in vibrant, authentic Indian street food and sharing plates, accompanied by a stellar lineup of live music from around the world; from the deep blues of Mali to the electric beats of Brazil - there is something for everyone. 

The story:

The London Jukebox started with a passion for music and a desire to provide a permanent platform for global talent in London. When founder, Raxa, went touring in South America, she created The London Jukebox travel blog in order to share the sights and sounds she discovered along the way. Upon her return, the sharing continued and the blog grew into a tight-knit team of world music promoters, hosting the likes of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Mulatu Astake and Hariprasad Chaurasia in different venues around London. Now, at last, The London Jukebox has taken root, serving best-loved recipes from northern India, Raxa's home, to complement her personal curation of global sounds. 

About the chef: 

Mahendra Singh, The London Jukebox's head chef, was taught to cook from an early age by his father and fellow master-chefs in the kitchen of the world-famous fine-dining restaurant, Bukhara, in Delhi, India. 

Since moving to England, Mahendra has cheffed in various illustrious restaurants including Veeraswamy in Piccadilly Circus, and Dishoom in Covent Garden. 

Mahendra has acquired over 25 years of experience in North-West frontier Indian cuisine. He's now at The London Jukebox to take on his own venture.
