G&M knows what it is like to be single in London - and more pressingly we know what it is like trying to meet someone.
We are pretty bored of people advising us to 'put ourself out there' and reassuring us that in London it's 'impossible to meet people, because everyone's too busy'. Blah blah blah, change the record.
So, we've come up with a new event (drum roll please)
'What's on The Cards' - come meet some people you'd actually like to meet.
The concept: meet 14 people of the opposite sex and see if you like any of them. Sounds rather simple doesn't it? You chat for 5 minutes with each person, before moving on to the next; but the difference to other events is we really do mean chat. G&M's prompt cards help you avoid the awkward silences that are usually only broken with a, "what do you do for a living?"; 14 times over.
Having 5 minutes shouldn't mean you have to rapid fire questions like it's a quiz show: Job? Family? Pets? There is plenty of time to find out what you have in common with the person sitting opposite you - and we are here to help.
The aim is to help you discover someone else that listens to Pulp's 'Different Class' twice a week, or someone that also likes to browse the antiques market in Greenwich on a Sunday afternoon.
We'd rather meet those people than someone whose pet goldfish is called Clive.
Along the way you jot down whether you want to see them again, hand those in at the end and we will discretely email you all the next morning with your matches!
Can't wait till the next morning? There will be time at the end of the event and breaks in between for you to chat with anyone that particularly catch your eye!
OK, so we've 'borrowed' a few bits from the dreaded speed-dating idea, but we've taken the cringe factor out of it because we'd like to help people meet other people they genuinely like!
Tickets cost £16 and if you don't meet anyone you would like to see again, then we'll treat you to the next one.
Ages - mid 20's to mid 30's only please.
