Philip Juma, the chef behind 'JUMA' - the Iraqi kitchen which has been doing hugely successful pop-ups in London since its inception in 2012, will be exhibiting a superb 6-course Iraqi tasting menu in the spacious and luxurious kitchens of Charlotte's W5.
As an English-Irish-Iraqi, Philip has been influenced by both Middle Eastern and modern European cuisine throughout his upbringing and this is reflected throughout his style of cooking. Guests will be treated to a glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne on arrival followed by an array of delicious Middle Eastern dishes with a 'JUMA' twist. From Cheese Bourek with Honey, to Lamb Chop with Dolma, we invite you to anticipate a multitude of exotic textures and flavours polished off with a delicious Iraqi dessert.
Philip boats an array of impressive culinary past feats - having worked at the Savoy, MAZE & Ishibilia to name a few - and has hosted many sell-out pop-ups, given food demonstrations at London’s Borough Market and catered high-profile events such as the Cinnamon Club Annual Party and the Financial Times Weekend Festival. Philip is also a proud cooking teacher at Le Cordon Bleu in Florence, Italy. and writes a weekly food column for The Evening Standard, so expect the very best!
