Ella Clayton presents MURMURATIONS - a night of raw musical expression and community. Join us in the hot-pink basement of Dona Mezcal for another all-female line up showcasing our favourite singer/songwriters and DJs.'

Ashaine White: Inspired by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Erykah Badu, Lianne La Havas, D’angelo, Radiohead and Nirvana, just to name a few, Ashaine describes herself as a "grunge-soul" artist, taking the fundamental approaches to jazz singing whilst adding her own unique modern spin. Taking pride in her Caribbean heritage - and being a black girl in music - is something that Ashaine holds dearly. "There are so many black artists that have paved the way and inspired me to pursue the career of being a musician in every genre," she explains. "I feel like at the moment, especially in the UK, Black music has become a selection of a few 'Urban' genres, and as a black singer in the UK it's expected that you are to make music that falls into these categories."Ashaine wants to break out of these boxes built for her. Having been singing since the age of seven as a way to express herself, songwriting came to her later once she had absorbed the worlds of jazz, soul, grunge and R&B through CDs, MP3s and eventually streaming. These genres influenced Ashaine's writing and gave her the confidence to make her own music".

Pearl Fish -Pearl Fish is a songer/singwriter born in Camden and raised in Peckham, SE London.

She began to busk at 14, and it was on these pavements, among the awkward eye contact, merry thank-you´s and unassuming friends made that she began to write. From grey streets to green she since has played small stages at festivals such as Greenbelt, Wilderness and Lovebox, as well as gigging with friend and cellist Harvey Gibbons from pubs to venues such as The Lexington, Camden Assembly, Spiritual bar and with Sofar Sounds. Through Autumn 2017 she worked with Registered Charity BIRD and Harvey to create her 5 track EP, which can be

listened to on Youtube and Soundcloud.Pearl has just released her 2nd EP 'Moves Through Matter' now available on all streaming platforms.´Lyrically wistful and warm, Pearl´s songs have the capacity to make you feel simultaneously hopeful and beautifully melancholic in that slightly addictive way´ - BIRD.org.uk

Ella Clayton - Ella is a story teller & singer-songwriter from East London. Her songs resonate as honest portrayals of love and loss, which take you from euphoric intoxication to shivering outside alone and back again. It’s this lyrical vulnerability, carried in the raw melodic edge of her vocals and mesmeric acoustic refrains, which makes Ella's music so distinctive. Her debut album, 'Murmurations' will be released later this year. Ella began playing in open-mic nights in London when she was a teenager, then busked on the streets of Brighton and Berlin, before returning to London and gigging solo in London venues such as the Union Chapel, the Sebright Arms and the infamous Dona Mezcal bar. Ella will be joined on stage by the gorgeous G-lo, a cellist, composer and sound engineer (recently graduated from Abbey Road Institute).

CHEZA - Coming down to Dona to bring some booty shaking beats to get the basement bumping! Just as the name suggests, they're sure to get your spirit dancing for joy. As their name translates to dance/play in Swahili, they embrace the eclectic sounds from across the continent of Africa, around the islands of the Caribbean and the naughty underground scene in the UK. Serving a blend of Afrobeats, Garage, Amapiano, Funk, Disco and DnB.

Pinks - Pinks is a Drum & Bass and Jungle DJ from London. Although Drum & Bass and Jungle are what she predominantly plays she is also known for her creative blends and double drops with other genres such as Footwork, Tek and Speedbass.

She focuses on the underground with her selection and you are likely to hear music that you have never heard before. Pinks is someone who always likes to think outside the box which is reflected in her song choice, she interlaces otherworldly breaks & percussion with rolling basslines to take the audience on a novel journey in the rave.

Having played in a range of venues from London’s Peckham Audio to the O2 Academy Bristol Pinks has supported the likes of Hype, Grooverider, Nicky Blackmarket & Micky Finn.
