Military whist is a fun and competitive take on the traditional British card game whist. Brilliantly sociable, this game brings people together to compete for world domination! Teams of four work as a country to invade and conquer whilst protecting home turf and returning home with flags, all over a casual beer!
Taking place at the Jam Tree, one of Clapham's coolest pubs, this game gets you talking to everyone. With some great prizes (dinner at the Pepper Tree) and your first drink on us you'll feel quite at ease competing for world domination. Even if you don't win, you will have helped support the Ace of Clubs homeless charity where 10% of our profits will be directed.
The game consists of wining tricks. In each round, teams of four split in to pairs with one pair staying at home and the other play away at another country. If you win the majority of tricks against another country you come home with a flag. The winning team is the one with the most number of flags. Even those with no experience can come out victorious, it is all down to the hand you are dealt!
Feel free to come as a team of four or as individuals, we will build a team for you. If you have a team, please drop us an email when you sign up. This is a new event in London and not worth missing. Come on down!

4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
