Description

Honky Tonk Clapham carries on the rock ‘n’ roll USA-inspired party on the site of what was once Clapham’s Underdog, next to Clapham Common station. The vintage style restaurant is split between a restaurant, bar, and private dining areas all complete with vintage rock 'n' roll touches and quirky seating.

Bringing a little slice of the Big Apple to Clapham, diners can tuck into classic American favourites from Burgers, to Ribs and Hot Dogs and Brunch is also served daily. Honky Tonk serves mouth watering all-American cuisine, from the Philly Cheese Steak with grilled portabello mushrooms & green peppers to the New York hotdog with gherkins & hot mustard. Guests can enjoy late night hours, great music, DJs and entertainment in a fun time party atmosphere. The bar stocks an amazing selection for their unique cocktail menu. One of the favourites is the Pickleback Shot, made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon and pickle brine- trust us it's good. The alfresco seating overlooking the common tops it all off and makes this one of the best venues in Clapham.

It could be a good experience, the restaurant looks quite nice..from the outside. Even we had a reservation with my girlfriend, the pub was closed. The guy insine was laughing to my face through the window, mumbled something the pub stay shut the day, how shocking, unprofessional and offensive! Everything can happend and they had my number, they could call me and say "sorry, we had a party yesterday, do not come" and there would not be a problem. I wont go there again, even try. visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 11 Dec 2016

Awful. I booked months ago for my birthday party, turned up and the bar was shut. Called and was given a very pathetic apology with no reason as to why the bar wasn't opening. No one has tried to contact me to warn me. The bar was due to open at 11am, this happened at 1pm....plenty of time for them to reach out had they cared about customers at all. visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 11 Dec 2016

Well i had the table booked till 2AM and at 10PM our jackets were removed from out table while we were at the bar and dancing. I was then rudely told i hadn't booked them till 2AM and when I tried to speak I was shot down by the manager who wouldn't let me speak. She wouldn't speak to anyone apart from the one girl she had already told to move. I had two tables booked that night and because we weren't at the other table (at this point we were at the table we were kicked off of) a group had sat there and when i told this to the manager she said it wasn't her problem. Awful experience and definitely would not come back. If she just tried to communicate both ways she would have understood. visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 10 Dec 2016

Daily business customer but today was a disappointment. Brought colleagues for Christmas lunch. Food took over 50 minutes to arrive ( 60 min lunch hour) . Bacon missing from English Breakfast menu and we had to ask for it. It was brought with an apology. Staff try to be helpful but need to repeat several times requests . " no ice in drink " comes with ice! Not your finest hour but food is of a good quality. visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 08 Dec 2016

Staff were extremely friendly but seem to be untrained. The lady forgot a lot of our order and had to keep coming back to take the order, the food took over an hour to come out and when it did it was sometimes wrong. Very beautiful venue and honestly staff tried their best but I do not think I will be returning to Honky Tonk. visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 29 Nov 2016

We went for dinner on a Groupon. Positive points: The staff were good, surroundings looked cool. Mojito was well made and I was pleased with the beer selection. Food was OK, I had the halloumi and guacamole burger. I enjoyed the chips, brioche hamburger bun and it had a generous amount of halloumi. Negative points: guacamole and mayonnaise were really cheap quality. We gave the groupon in before we ordered but the bill still came full price. Staff changed it when we asked them though. Ladies toilets need to be checked more often - wettest floor I've ever experienced although I realise they can't vet for customers who can aim! I would go again if I was in the area. visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 25 Nov 2016

This was my first visit to Honky Tonk. I booked in advance and was told that I would get a free two course meal and chocolate brownie as it was my birthday - nice surprise. On arrival I was shocked to see balloons, happy birthday confetti, hats and a birthday card on the table which was totally unexpected. Me and my party had a fab night. Great food and atmosphere. This was my first time visiting Honky Tonk and ultimately I was a little disappointed. The quality of food was extremely average: I had brisket and the other person I went with had a burger and both of us felt we'd had better. Given that the restaurant was practically empty (and we were only a party of two) it also felt like we were being rushed; we'd barely been sat down for two minutes before the waiter was asking us for drinks and food orders. We also ordered 'hard' milkshakes (over £8 each!) which were very poor: the alcohol had barely been mixed in with the rest of the ingredients. The venue does have a very laid back vibe, and the music they played was enjoyable. And despite rushing us a bit the staff were nice enough. Ultimately I would return to grab a couple of drinks (wine or beer - not a milkshake!) as it's a nice enough place and is in a great location, however, wouldn't order food. A shame, as I'm new to the Clapham area and was looking forward to my visit. natasha.snaps visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 22 Oct 2016

It was my birthday night out, coincidentally on their 3rd birthday party so yes it would be busy. However my table was a mishmash of 2 different tables, no decorations or even any acknowledgement that it was my birthday. The table behind us had decorations so it's clear where the effort went, they had constant service. It took an hour for food to be served, only after having to check with the waitress who also lost our order in the great 'till system', and fair dues to the trainee manager, she made things right towards the end with some ££ off the bill. But all in all, was a bit sh*t of a night to celebrate a birthday with friends. So sad as I've always been a fan of HT, since my first birthday 2yrs ago. Very noisey for a couples meal out. Had a groupon deal, never keen on being given a scrappy 'groupon menu'. Nachos were really nice- loads of em! As were potato skins. I had chicken wings for main, worst chicken wings I have ever had, way too much breading. Bleugh. Ate 2 and felt sick. Brownie look OK, but tasted bland. Prosecco vinagery. Staff were lovely. Overall was OK, would not go again for just a meal on a weekend-would be better for just drinks and nachos! jessiwa visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 30 Jul 2016

I came here very recently to celebrate my birthday. I had excellent customer service before I arrived at the restaurant spoke to a lovely girl on the phone who said I had reserved a table at the back of the restaurant for myself and 12 friends, that the table would be decorated and I would receive a birthday free meal. I was aware that England were playing a football match that night so I had checked with the girl on the phone that the table wasn't right near the bar. However on arrival to the restaurant my table was right at the front of the restaurant near some bar seating which was full of drunk guys. I didn't have any issues with these guys but at the same time they were making so much noise I couldn't hear any one else on my table. Also the table decorations were two deflated balloons and some heart confetti...I asked the waitress to move tables as I had been promised one at the back but she pretty much said 'I don't make the phone calls so there isn't anything I can do'. So unfortunately I spent my entire birthday meal shouting to be heard by my friends. However food was pretty good, but customer service on the night ruined it. Fun, good value place to go to and in a great location. Been here twice - once for my bday for some drinks, and once for a meal. I loved the spin wheel that you get to do after your meal to win things. I won't be coming back here again though because the service was awful during my meal (although was last autumn). It took forever for the blonde waitress to come and serve us, so I ended up going to the till to order, however she was chatting to another girl (either a friend or colleague) and she had her back to me and showed no attention to me despite seeing me there. They could both see I was standing there waiting to order but neither spoke to me. It was quite awkward that I was standing there, obviously waiting to order, but with the girl with her back to me igoring me. Eventually she finished her convo and turned to serve me. Rude waitress, foul language and obviously just didn't care about their jobs or the customers. food26 visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 26 May 2015

Went on Groupon 2 course deal with my partner, was quite quiet when arrived at 1400 but got a little busier after an hour. The set menu offered only had choices much cheaper than the price limits specified on the groupon deal and service was very slow. Apart from that the food was very good (although who serves a burger without chips!) and waitresses a delight. monkey456 visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 28 Feb 2016

Very disappointed with this restaurant. I called on numerous occasions to try and book using my wowcher code to be told by an incredibly rude woman manager that there was no room on any of the dates we wanted to go. would've been fair enough if it was 4 - 5 weeks in advance. I questioned this and her rude response was 'I'm the boss I make the rules' someone is on a powertrip I think!!! We did eventually get a table on an inconvenient night. Menu was limited and food was below average! Never will I go back jackmitch27 visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 25 Nov 2015

We made reservations for 8pm on Friday 30th October with a Wowcher voucher we had purchased (2 course and one cocktail each for 2 people for £26). We were greeted by friendly staff and taken to our table where we then waited for around half an hour for our drinks to arrive shortly followed by our starters. Then a full 50 minutes after for our main course to arrive. The chilli dog was nice, the chicken and waffles were really quite unpleasant. Over-cooked, hard and dry. We got our bill after which was incorrect and had to be taken back to be amended. When asked how the food was we politely expressed that we had to wait a long time for all courses and drinks and that one meal was unpleasant, yet no compensation was offered. So we just paid what we owed and left. All in all, good ambiance & pleasant staff but I guess we just had an unlucky experience. jmattey visited Honky Tonk Clapham Common on 30 Oct 2015

Although the kitchen had to be closed due to unforeseen circumstances it was lovely to still have the waitresses & staff do their best in re to what food was available. The cocktails were amaze balls. All the staff were amazing, extremely friendly interactive & they all had a great sense of humour. It felt like they were apart of the part w/ us. Second time here and it did not disappoint! Took my partner here for his birthday (his first time) and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We went with a wowcher so had a set menu to choose from but it had my favourite-the fried chicken burger and he had the american classic. Food was a great standard as always as was the brownie dessert which completely defeated me! We went at 8 on a Friday and they gave out small jack Daniels honey with lemonade for free with a promotional pick to get a regular at a reduced price! Our waitress also provided us with a free beer due to a misunderstanding with another customer! Overall the positives largely outweighed the negatives. As it was busy we were sat on the high bar stools (not that comfy after a while) also due to it being busy it did take a while to get hold of our menu and get served. I think the biggest annoyance though was as the bar became busier people were stood right next to our table and would leave their drinks on it! That wasn't great. Overall though it was another amazing night with brilliant music and a very bubbly waitress. Happily go again!

Booked this restaurant on a Friday night to try something different. I arrived earlier than the rest of my party and was shown to my table. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to provide me with a menu or ask if I wanted a drink. We ordered Nachos and potato skins to start both of which were tiny especially for a restaurant of this type. I had the burger for my main which i asked for medium rare. The burger was well done and having to pay for sides on top seems a bit of a rip off. All in all, i will definitely not be going back to this restaurant. The food was edible, the atmosphere was good but with Bodeans so close by that will always be a better option.

the chicken burger we had was quite nice, the chicken was perfectly cooked, the burger in general could have done with one more thing to really give it a final kick, but it was nice. we went on a Saturday with a voucher the service was good, the place was really busy so we had to wait a little longer despite booking but they did not leave us waiting for too long. as below the table could have been cleaner and the glasses also. the music they played was good but could be on the loud side, but to be fair that's only to everyones taste. all in all a decent experience

I don't really know what to say on this. The table was dirty, there was no napkins or cutlery, the sauce bottles were all empty. The cups that came with water were dirty. They had no milkshakes. It is the only place i have been too that delivered our food before our drinks...which took about 50 mins to arrive. On a positive note the burgers were nice and the staff seemed nice though late delivery was pretty bad..... however don't be fooled this is no USA style diner by any means, with out of a bag frozen onion rings..... to be fair this is really a pub with some tables and some really loud music..... when will bars really learn that excessive loud music does not create atmosphere....just a lot of shouting and sore throats....

I bought two vouchers from Groupon which included a burger/hotdog, rosemary chips and a cocktail. We arrived early to have cocktail at the bar before eating, the service was slow and unfortunately there was nowhere to stand so we felt like we were constantly in the way. The first cocktails were good, if a little smaller than usual. After being seated we waited a rather long time before being served, we ordered chilli nachos which were average and very expensive considering the portion size. The burger was delicious but the chips were most definitely not rosemary! The 'free' cocktails were terrible and tasted like weak vodka and lemonade – not at all like they were described on the menu. We spent about £40 plus the cost of the vouchers, overall not a great experience for the amount spent.

After buying a voucher of Amazon myself and my partner tried booking one Sunday but was told they were fully booked, so we waited a week and thought we'd try again. Arrived on time, got seated straight away. With the voucher we got a cocktails and a burger and chips for two, we went for Mojito's ... After waiting for some time, after our starters may I add, our cocktails arrived. Well they wasn't to our liking, seemed like there was more ice than anything else, couldnt taste anything other then a hint of lime if that. So we decided as we have already paid for these through Amazon to send them back, so we did. Management came over after we told the waitress we wasn't happy with them asking us what sas wrong with them, so we told her the truth, they didn't taste likes anything other than flavoured water, we asked if we could have them remade. After waiting another 15mins our second lot arrived, they tasted just as bad, but this time ever so sweet, so we called management over, don't think she believed us so we went and got a straw from the bar to taste them herself and had the cheek to say that's how a mojito tastes.... I'm sorry, I work in a well established cocktail bar up town and they do not taste like that. Reluctantly she changed them and we ordered something else, didn't even what a cocktail after all that. Food - well what can I say, the burger wasn't all that, mine tasted very bland. I would recommend if your getting anything to get the most expensive one on the menu with the spicy sauce so that way it tastes away te blandness... I won't be going back there again and if I hadn't already purchased the voucher I probably wouldn't of stayed for the mains after the cocktail ordeal.

After few ups and downs with the restaurant reservation we were able to enjoy my Husband's 40th Birthday which went well . Big Thank You to our lovely Waiter Katy. Unfortunately the BIG DOWN for this place was the music it was far from ROCK !!!!Shame this Restaurant would definitely Stand Out with Rock music . Shame.

Arrived at the venue with my partner very disappointed. We were served our drinks and was told that we could sit were we wanted. O sitting down we discovered that both drinking glasses we were giver were absolutely dirty. Given a further two glasses and they were eve worse. My parter received o apology. Approx an hour and a half later we were approached by a staff member ad asked if we could move from the back to the front.. We didn't ask because it turned out we were leaving. Firstly we were told we could sit anywhere. Not impressed with this. Overly prised drinks We will not be parting with our money here again.

We had a fab Christmas party at Honky Tonk! Natalie was incredibly helpful over email before we arrived & once we got there everything was exactly as described. The staff on the night were lovely & despite there being nearly 30 of us, everyone was looked after. We will definitely be back!

Dear Mr Honky Tonk, Unlike most people on this, I prefer to focus on the positives of my night rather than the little to none negatives. I will like to say thank you for a great night, I enjoyed by myself and my collegeaues. All 15 of us had a great time. Firstly we were welcomed by the lovely smile from Blake at the door. It was about 3 degrees and she still manages to constantly smile at the guest, as we go in and out for cigarettes. And I would also like to mention the new Australian guy at the bar, Myself and my colleagues grew fond of him alot, as the night went on. Very good bar tender whom we shared alot of jokes with and he also made sure our glasses were always full. I feel really bad not remembering our waitress's name, who attended to all 15 of us and made us feel welcomed and enjoyed our party. I do remember she had an american accent. I remeber asking her name later during the night but I was too merry to remember. I will just remember her as the wonder woman of the night. If it wasn't for her great service to all 15 of us, the party would not have gone so smoothly. We are a fussy group. And also Natalie done a great job corresponding with me via email and on the phone with the planning our team night out on the 5th of December. In general all the staff were friendly, food was great and drinks were delicious. I and most of my colleagues have said we would definitely be returning on another night. Ikenna

I come honky tonk all the time this is why I wanted to spend my bday dinner at this restaurant. First of all the cocktails was great. But I had 20 + guests and we only had one waitress so loads of things got muddled. I was the birthday girl and I never got my food so I just cancelled as I was fed up. A lot of my family don't eat pork so pork was given too them without any warning. Lastly I think I got over charged on the overall bill. But I will b back for more cocktails.

Firstly, the food was amazing! However, I do have some slight criticisms which is a real shame because I wanted to love Honky Tonk! I had a cocktail just approaching the end of happy hour which took about 25 minutes to arrive -understandable as everyone was trying to get in on the 2 for 1 deal. It was worth the wait though because it was amazing and was a reasonable size. What I found shocking was that less than 2 hours later I got the same cocktail - at the full price of £8.50 - in a tiny babycham glass!! Didn't have the heart to complain as it had been bought for me by a friend. My other criticism was the music. Good tunes but ridiculously loud! I knew music was played but I had no idea this was the kind of place that you had to scream to be heard! I don't mean to sound like an old girl but surely a place that has a restaurant should be more conducive for conversation?! In my opinion this was a massive let down. 1 final criticism was the need for a toilet attendant. Certainly not the kind of place I need to pay to be passed a hand towl - especially when the room is so small you have to step over her legs to get in the cubicle! On a final note, the service was very good and a discrepancy with the bill was handled quickly and satisfactorily. Would return for drinks and a dance but probably not to eat unfortunately.

Hi kf, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have such a great time with us. Our cocktails are made to specific recipes so you should have received the same amount of drink whether it be Happy Hour or not - I will investigate this for you. With regards to the music, we do have a lively party atmosphere but we could have turned down some speakers to make it more comfortable for you. I will also investigate the situation with the toilet attendant, to make sure she is not in any customer's way in the future. Food was good and the 2-4-1 cocktails were a great shout but service let it down. Once shown table we were overlooked and had to ask for menus and then ask for drinks, and when food came they forgot some side dishes...

Food was really nice and tasty. Not sure if it was really my kind of place for dinner, way too noisy and had to work hard to get waitresses attention a lot. Although they were very friendly when they did come to us. Sorry to say im not sure if I personally would go again but it seemed really popluar, may more as a bar though than a restuarant?

First off the food was excellent, I really enjoyed it. But... It took half an hour to get drinks (by which time I'd forgotten that we'd even ordered drinks), and another half an hour on top of that to get starters. I felt that because we had vouchers we were not as important as the other customers and therefore didn't seem to be paid attention to at all. It wasn't exactly busy in there either. It took 20 minutes to (eventually unsubtly) grab a waitress' attention when we were trying to order food and there was one just standing by the waiter station apparently folding napkins. When food finally came we asked for mayonnaise we were presented with a tiny pot covered in manky looking cling film with enough mayo for maybe 3 chips if you were lucky. Considering two of us asked for mayonnaise you'd have thought maybe 2 pots??? Enough for 6 chips??? We also weren't even offered knives and forks with our main course. I know a lot of people eat burgers with their hands but I'm just not one of those people - when finding another waitress was clearly not going to happen I relented but the burger was so big it was not easy nor dignified. Also every time someone walking in or out of the door we were blasted with freezing cold air. It looks like there are 2 doors a distance apart... why not use both? The music was also so loud it was intrusive, we could hardly hear each other over the table. It's lucky it was good music otherwise we may have said something. Anyway, I'm doubtful we'll be returning purely because the service was not up to par. You may also think I'm a grumpy old lady, actually I'm only 26, but I work in the industry and know how paying customers should be respected. At least the food was faultless.

The food was great but the service was terrible. The waitress's took ages to even notice us. I even saw another diner go up and get their own food from the counter because it took so long. Then they had the cheek to try and add a 20% service charge for terrible service. It wasn't even that busy

Very up and down night. Starter of potato skins was awful, and i expected the rest of the food to be the same. However burger was excellent, probably one of the best that i have had, and the dessert was also amazing, so thats the good stuff. HOWEVER, the music - LOUD!! ridiculously so, there is no way that you could have a conversation. The tables are incredibly close, so personal space violated. And as for the cocktails, RUBBISH! I am a light drinker, and when we were informed that with our voucher we would get a jug of cocktail, i half filled my glass believing that this would be the only drink i could have as i was driving, but in the end it so SO WEAK, that i drank two full glasses as if it was coke. It is unacceptable that they could serve that as being an alcoholic drink. So all in all the experience was not grand, and don't think we would go back. It was a Friday night, so maybe on a week day due to quality of food we may consider it, but as one other report stated their are many choices in the area, so that said, it would still remain unlikely.

Good food bad service. In Clapham American food is common so you I wasn't happy when we were sat in a dark out of the way area with a waitress who was all over the place. She didn't know who she was serving, what course we were on and when asked for the bill we found her 10 minutes later playing a game with the other staff. There are nicer alternatives in the area

The food here was lovely! but the place itself wasnt great, me and my other half went for a meal there on Saturday night and was put on a nice little table for two, within 20 minutes of sitting there all the people that was there just to have a drink at the bar was standing around our table, i felt really uncomfy and couldn't really relax to eat my meal, it was also very loud the music was like is was a nightclub! so having a conversation wasn't to easy, i wouldn't go back there because if this! its a shame but i think they need to value the people eating as much as the people there just drinking! or rearrange the place so the restaurant is completely separate

I feel that first off, I ought to say that I love the Honky Tonk. Never really been disappointed by the food and it's great for drinks on a Friday night. However, I booked for a meal with friends for my Birthday on a Tuesday night (it wasn't particularly busy, no wait on tables etc, but the service was awful, and was clearly a sign of bad management. We waited over 10 minutes before someone even took a drinks order from us, and a further 10-20 minutes to receive the drinks we ordered, the same happened when we ordered a second round - infact we had to remind the waitress that we'd even ordered another round of drinks. In regards to the food, everything was fine... no complaints, apart from the fact that our side of mac and cheese may as well have been a dessert it came so much later than our meals.... Like I said I love this place, but they really need to do something about the quality of the service here.

The food was okay but the service was awful. Our cocktails kept getting spilt as the table was so wobbly and when i told them about it, they weren't replaced. We had to remind them we had ordered drinks as they forgot and the food took a long time to arrive. Not great.

I made reservations online and upon arrival we found the venue to be dark and overpowered by loud music! Not ideal for an evening dining experience. We were seat at a not so clean table and upon on sitting down for 2 mins, we felt pressured to order drinks without anytime to peruse the menu. The music was clearly too loud as the waitress repeated our order wrong, more than once. There was lack of general customer care/table service after our drinks/starters were delivered indicated that we wasn't oing to enjoy our short time at Honky Tonk. The table was dirty when we were seated and it remained dirty even when food was bought to us. We requested for the table to be cleaned, with what we expected to be a clean wet cloth, but indeed a pile of 'dry' serviettes was dumped on our the table for us to clean ourselves! We ordered chicken wings for starters which was barely hot and the sauce was gloopy and cold.....we also wasn't offered serviettes or individual finger bowls to clean our hands after eating sticky food and when asked for a water/finger bowl, we was presented with a teacup of cold water for 3 people to use!!. Instantly an hygiene issue there..........each customer should have been given a personal finger bowl. When asked to clean the table again, that still wasn't honoured with any urgency so we ended up dipping the serviettes into the cup of water in order to wipe the already sticky/dirty table. The limited staff on such a busy evening, was clearly more concerned with prancing around in halloween outfits, in customers faces, instead of checking if they were happy their meal or needed anything else to make the dining experience a good one. Our main course (jacket potatoes) failed to arrive so we decided to pay for the starters and leave! The overall experience was very disappointing, the menu was limited and basic and the staff/service was highly disappointing considering the location of the establishment. I'm afraid I won't be returning to Honky Tonk, or will I have any confidence in recommending it.

Service was great , however the rib portions were ridiculous ! For £16.00 each you would expect a full rack but what we actually got would be acceptable as a starter even the waiter looked embarrassed ! Chips were extra salty . Hotdogs were nice and good size , milkshake was lovely. Starters of chicken wings were tasty but small portions again only 3tiny wings each .I'd rather go up the road to bodeans better service and food portions for your money .

Food average, great location with smiley, friendly waitress. 1. However music was a bit too loud for a dinner session, it would be appreciated if it could be turned down a bit during 7-10pm. 2. One thing which make my partner and I feel really unpleasant was the sitting place is too small, customers were hitting each other chairs and the atmosphere is so crowded! No one was serving at the door and we hardly found the managers or waitress. We booked a table in advance and were given a table which is an "add on" table in the middle of the hallway and we were so disappointed that the manager didn't even give us an apology (although she did at the end after we finished the mean and paid ) and appointed us to sit at that awkward place. Children were passing in and out the narrow space all the time and waitress were hardly moved, which was absolutely inconvenience! I understood that the place is busy, however there is a responsibility to take care the customers well and to feel comfortable. I am sure everyone will understand if manager kindly apologies for the situation at the first place.

We went through the week but we got great service. Irish lady that served us was really funny and friendly. It was a groupon deal but we both got value for money. The BBQ chicken wings tasted great. The burger tasted great and they even added cheese at no extra cost. The desert we had the waffle with very nice ice cream. The only negative and it's being really picky was that the chips were covered in salt but the jug off cocktail went down very nicely. I think I would visit again as I loved the quirky decore and friendly servise. 😎

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Worst service I've ever experienced. We were left with no menu for half an hour - i had to get up and ask for one. they also left us with no drinks for approx 35-40 mins so i went to the bar and ordered my own. The food took a while to come and when it did it really wasn't worth the wait. The people that were booked on our table arrived just as we were having desert and so we were asked if we minded moving to free up the table - well actually i do mind. I'm a paying customer, plus had they not taken so long with the menu, the drinks and taking our order we wouldn't still be there. DEFO not going back. All in all a really bad

We used an Amazon voucher which was great as we hadn't eaten here before. The service was good and the waitresses were all friendly and helpful. The food wasn't great. The Buffalo wings barely had any sauce on them so we're like normal friend wings. The burgers, when we had been asked how we wanted them cooked we asked for medium, we're well done. The "Rosemary fries" had no sign of Rosemary. The mud pie was a fudge brownie. The key lime pie lacked lime and was more like a pumpkin/treacle tart. The complimentary cocktail jug was very watery and flavourless. It also contained the bare minimum amount of alcohol. The music and atmosphere were good and lively. The waitress was apologetic when we told her about the food, which we appreciated. All in all the food was distinctly underwhelming. The extra cocktails we bought were good so maybe next time we'll just have drinks...

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. I have reported your comments about the food to our head chef who will investigate the issues. I can assure you that our cocktails are made to specific recipes and the jugs contain the same amount of alcohol as 2 glasses (4 shots). As an apology for your disappointment I'd like to invite you back to see if we can restore your faith in us.clapham@honkytonklondon.com)

We used an amazon local deal which was great value and the food was delicious- this element cannot be faulted. Also the staff were very friendly when we first arrived. Burgers were served on wooden chopping boards, with the chips in little fryers, unfortunately my friends board was very bowed, when she cut into her food the board flipped the chips up and onto the floor. When the waitress came over my friend said the board had flipped the chips, the waitress didn't say anything and just picked up the chips. We expected her to bring a replacement as it had not been her fault and they were full when they fell. We waited but no replacement came. The waitresses did not look at us at all, despite walking past us several times with us calling their attention and trying for eye contact. When the 2nd waitress removed the boards my friends said again that it hadn't been her fault the chips went on the floor and they shouldn't use the board again as it is faulty. The waitress just said 'oh.. do you want more then?', but the moment had passed. This was a shame as the food was so nice and although she didn't want more chips, on principle this wasn't her fault and it felt the waitresses did everything possible to avoid our eye contact or come over, which was very different to how they were when they came in. A simple apology would have been nice as the board was unusable! Also replenishing the chips would have been a nice touch, costing very little for the restaurant. I would say I don't think this is the individual waitresses fault as they looked incredibly busy, perhaps they needed more staff on duty. A shame, because it if wasn't for this experience i'd have had a brilliant time but it took the shine off slightly.

Really cool venue. Love hanging out here in the sun. They do great cocktails and the food is top notch. Gets really lively on a weekend when they're open late too!
