Roka Aldwych

What they say:

The two Roka restaurants in Charlotte Street and Canary Wharf have brought great success for this eatery chain, but their latest opening at Aldwych will go its own way. The excellent spread of Japanese cuisine and the welcoming ambience will still be here, but the Aldwych branch of this organisation will "deliver a new dynamic altogether with unique design elements in both the restaurant and bar." The experienced culinary team will serve up a whole load of tasty treats cooked on the charcoal robata grill with a selection of sushi and sashimi to support.

What we say:

As this esteemed restaurant chain heads into its tenth year of serving up sumptuous Japanese food, it's safe to say the guys at Roka know what they're doing. But their decision to construct "a new dynamic altogether" is a bold step and one that deserves its plaudits. It would have been easy to replicate the successes of their other eateries around London and in Hong Kong, but in constructing something different Roka have taken a fresh and interesting new approach. Their dishes-for-sharing mentality means visitors can easily sample a wide variety of the options on show, whilst adding something to the atmosphere in its own way. You'd be hard pressed to find a more authentic all round Japanese experience than at Roka, so be sure to head on down!
