Description
1 Lombard Street
1 Lombard Street is steeped in banking history and the area was once considered the Wall Street of its time. Today, however, this beautiful Grade II-listed building, which dates back to 1776, is home to one of the capital’s most iconic and established restaurants, aptly named 1 Lombard Street.
Architecturally stunning, it boasts three separate areas. The Brasserie, The 1776 restaurant and The Dome Bar.
Despite its grandeur the atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed and unintimidating, leaving the glorious interior to supply the formality.
The Brasserie at 1 Lombard Street is the Square Mile's most established restaurant, sited in pole position next to Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of the City of London, and directly opposite the Bank of England. The salon features the building's stunning glass cupola which houses The Dome Bar and offers classic dishes with the Chef's Specials Menu changing daily to reflect the fresh produce of that season. Choose from City favourites like Dover Sole or one of the formidable steaks on offer. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Monday-Firiday, this bustling 200-seat brasserie is suited to all tastes, budgets and occasions.
The 1776 dining room is the elegant hidden-gem of a restaurant, open for lunch and the perfect spot for special celebrations and business meetings.
Order from the a la carte menu or the silver service roast meat trolley, your choice from which is carefully carved by the Maitre’d at your table. Now that’s special!
1 Lombard street is a favourite venue for Private and corporate events but whether it’s a morning coffee, a light lunch or a more formal meal, 1 Lombard Street won’t fail to impress. After all, they’ve been doing it for twenty years!
