Set underneath Smith's Bar & Grill is Ayllu, a new basement restaurant serving up a unique taste of Peru by Paddington Basin.

Taking inspiration from the Inca Empire’s Ayllu community, the canalside eatery has embraced a number of the culture's ancient family-focussed traditions within its fusion cuisine. Combining the distinct flavours of Japanese and Peruvian cooking, the kitchen has created an innovative menu of small plates, main dishes and signature cocktails. Think courgette ceviche with shiitake mushrooms, guacamole with prawn crackers and pork bao with chipotle mayo. And to drink? Pisco sours, lavender margaritas and jalapeno-infused mezcal concoctions all make for potent sips.

But it’s not just the food and unusual libations that are bound to leave a lasting impression. Ayllu's sleek interiors and intimate atmosphere will also have you coming back for more. Jewel-toned Chesterfields and lily pad wall decorations make for a sweet-on-the-eyes scene whilst individual table lamps provide broody glamour and a hush-hush ambience.

Basically, if you're looking for an Inca-redible night of drinking and dining, Ayllu is the place for you.
