Co-headlining this popular monthly night are two of the hottest funk & soul bands in the UK – Gemma & The Travellers and Crowd Company. Not only will they be each playing a set, they’ll also collaborate on a special “superjam” finale: Gemma & The Travellers vs Crowd Company.
One of Europe’s most in-demand funk DJs, Healer Selecta, will be spinning funk & soul 45s throughout the night. And to open the night is a live set from international mainstays the Soul Immigrants Organ Trio.

GEMMA & THE TRAVELLERS
Gemma & the Travellers give a nod to the early deep Soul, R&B, Northern Soul and Funk of the 60s and early 70s but their songwriting brings a refreshing and very unique twist to the party.
Gemma’s inimitable and powerful voice interweaves with the uplifting harmonies of sax, Wurlitzer piano and guitar on the bed of a solid rhythm section.
Performing throughout venues in France & the UK and recently opening for Craig Charles at the Jazz Café in London, the band are completing their début album after having released many 45s on vinyl. Frequently aired on BBC radio’s Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show, the latest single “Too Many Rules & Games” was described by Craig as a “tasty little nugget”.

Original retro funk and soul with a modern twist from eight-piece Crowd Company, one of London’s leading bands of the genre. Brimful of energy, with a raw edge, catchy hooks, and tight grooves, the band have a finely-tuned sound based around retro funk grooves with a soulful edge, a Hammond organ-based sound with a virtuoso horn section, and soulful lead with hook-laden harmonies.
As well as headlining sellout shows at many of London’s leading venues, the band recently were asked to open for acclaimed Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings artists Saun & Starr and they’ve also recently opened for and collaborated with The Meters' George Porter Jr on his UK tour.

4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
