Preston – Glasgow – Lowe are comprised of three of London’s most forward thinking instrumentalists. Their music reflects the fluid styles of the post jazz/fusion London music scene, combining relentless polyrhythmic energy, harmonic dystopia and virtuosic improvisations into a singularly unique sound world.
PGL’s creative and developmental processes open up a panoply of textures and colours – from open, contemplative oases, to heavyweight, blistering maelstrom – yet it all emanates from this close collaboration of just three musically-incisive minds. This is a trio whose combined experience and prowess is distilled into an intuitive and invigorating program, fine-tuned from their numerous touring dates and live sessions.
In 2016, after an extensive UK tour campaign they opened for Dave Sanborn and Simon Phillips in a 4 night residency at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London and were invited to perform in Japan at Billboard Live, Tokyo.
Their most recent album, ‘Something About Rainbows,’ (2018) has drawn rave reviews from the UK press and abroad. They released the album with two late show specials at Ronnie Scott’s as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival and have recently opened for the Steve Gadd band as well as playing concerts throughout the UK.
