Join us at Ninety One Living Room for a performance from the wonderful and enlightening Àbáse.
As a trained keyboard player, Szabolcs Bognar has been active in the versatile music scene of Budapest for many years. He’s been a member of several successful Hungarian acts, including Amoeba, SoulClap Budapest and the latest project - The Mabon Dawud Republic - a fourteen piece afrobeat orchestra guest-starring Dele Sosimi.
His collaboration based solo project Àbáse is focusing on the cross-path of afrobeat, hip hop and jazz, with a heavyweight Budapest based rhythm section and special guests from Africa and its Diaspora. Gaining recognition and support from the likes of Worldwide FM, Soulection, KCRW and BBC 1Xtra, Àbáse’s long anticipated debut EP will drop during the spring of 2019.
