The Silk Road was a trade route that connected the Mediterranean Sea (and the surrounding countries) with East Asia and among all the cool things they exchanged with each other, the most important one was food. That ecliptic cuisine is at the centre of Silk Rd, as they open their second venue – after a first in Heswall in 2017 – at Beetham Plaza. It’s all about the views here, with floor-to-ceiling windows giving unparalleled views of the Plaza, as well as giving a lighter look into the interiors. Once inside, you’ll find a venue awash with bright colours, comfortable furniture, and little items like old fashioned suitcases to evoke that old Silk Road history.
What we say:
As the road travelled across countries, so does the menu go across various kinds of food, from tapas and mezze to street food. It traverses cultures, obviously, with curries, noodles and seafood featuring prominently, as well as interesting dishes like Yaour Tlou, savoury beef kebabs topped with Greek yoghurt and spice tomato sauce. They keep their bar packed out with international beers and wines, as well as cocktails from across those countries.
