The Alchemist Leeds - Trinity

Making the list of the best romantic bars in Leeds city centre, The Alchemist always delivers on visuals as well as taste. Boasting swoon-worthy views, a roof terrace and theatrical tipples, this cocktail lounge has gained a name for its smoky drinks and attention-grabbing interiors.

They also offer a scrumptious sharing feast on Sundays, costing £20 per person. This features all sorts of tasty bites, from macaroni cheese to pork belly bites and buttermilk fried chicken. Not in the Area? Try their Greek Street location instead.

Roland’s Leeds

Promising lots of secluded corners to cosy up in with your other half, Roland's is a top choice for date night. The Call Lane venue features low lighting, rustic furniture and exposed brick walls, with comfy leather booths to relax on - and there's even a hidden rooftop terrace.

They were named as one of the UK's Top 50 Cocktail Bars in 2022, flaunting unique tipples like the sundried tomato martini or a pomegranate cosmo. Plus, they serve an extensive wine list, and a cracking pint of Guinness to boot.

Shears Yard

Shears Yard may look unassuming from the outside, but step inside and you'll find a gorgeous bar and restaurant. Setting the scene with cool interiors, the Wharf Street eatery is sure to please with a seasonal drinks menu and homemade liquors. Plus, there's an outdoor terrace for the warmer months.

SkyLounge

Classic drinks, chic furnishings and cityscape views to boot; SkyLounge is, arguably, the fanciest rooftop. Situated on the 13th floor of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, this popular spot is ideal for a sunset date, whether you're working your magic on the outdoor terrace or one of their tables.

Chef Jono at V&V

Searching for a romantic bar in Leeds? Having been named as the 9th best cocktail den in the country, Vice & Virtue is an obvious choice. Drinks are whipped up from locally-sourced and foraged produce, while the interiors have been inspired by the Prohibition.

Blind Tyger

If your other half is a cocktail enthusiast, look no further than Blind Tyger. Bartenders at this Victorian-themed joint are serious pros, using some of the world's best ingredients to whip up incredible concoctions. Expect unusual mixes like a blackberry and rosemary Tom Collins or an Espresso Martini with sherry, bananas and chocolate.

Tabula Rasa

Tabula Rasa effortlessly transforms from a refined daytime café into a buzzing aperitivo and cocktail bar as the evening sets in. Inspired by European aperitivo culture and housed in a beautifully designed 1920s art deco space, it serves light bites alongside creative cocktails made with local ingredients. #

With seating for 55 and a curated selection of local art and music, Tabula Rasa is a cultural hotspot at the heart of Leeds city centre.

The Watermark

A heavyweight in Leeds' cocktail scene, The Watermark is offering two different date night spaces for the price of one. Upstairs, comfy couches and tables are matched with a menu of classic cocktails, small plates and charcuterie boards. Whilst downstairs, you'll find a more slinky scene and a selection of highball or lowball libations.
