What they say:

Good news for meat-free eaters as a favourite pop-up and catering company, Malacarne, has found a permanent home in Mount Florida. Better known for their pop-ups around Glasgow, including vegetarian and vegan nights at Bakery 47, the company have taken over Maggie's Cafe for their restaurant. Opened in May, the venue uses seasonal and locally sourced produce to create delicious dishes, including bread from Freedom bakery and dairy from Mossgiel in Ayrshire.

What we say:

MalaCarne is bringing even more vegetarian and vegan options to the city as they have opened a permanent restaurant in Southside Glasgow. The spot has taken over an old cafe and added a more rustic feel to it, with reclaimed church pews and a cornice ceiling. The menu changes regularly but previous dishes include goodies such as beetroot parties and butterbean mash as well as roast spiced cauliflower and pearl barley salad. The spot is open regularly during the day, and while not serving alcohol, is open in the evening for special events.
