Pride Glasgow

The rainbow flag will be flying high in Glasgow on 10th of August as Pride Glasgow takes over the city. A day to celebrate Glasgow and West Scotland's LGBT community, and bring awareness to discrimination and inequalities. The epicentre of festivities will be Glasgow Green, with the Oot on the Green party kicking with Heather Small, (of M People fame), as well as Supernova, Jordon O'Keefe and others, taking to the AXM stage thought the day and into the night.

Glasgow Green will be the centre of Glasgow Pride's fun and festivities.

The Pride Parade will assemble in Glasgow Green from 11am, and make its way up Trongate, into Merchant City, around by Glasgow Central then back down Clyde Street and into Glasgow Green again, before the rest of the day's festivities kick off with a family friendly carnival and market to keep you entertained between performers on the big stage.

The Pride Parade will make its way through the city from midday before returning to Glasgow Green.

Of course, Glasgow's gay bars and clubs are in on the act, with all of the Pink Triangle bigwigs out in force to support gay pride. AXM is leading the way with their sponsored stage in Glasgow Green, while back at the club, Pride festivities will kick off with a ma-hoo-sive launch party on August 9th. Long-running Merchant City gay bar The Underground are a major supporter of Glasgow Pride and will be hosting fundraising events throughout the lead up to the big day. Pride Fringe events also include hoot-filled Edinburgh Festival show, Up 4 A Meet at Oran Mor, and the launch of Glasgow nightclub The Tunnel's new weekly gay night, SunGayz on 11th August.

Once the hard work of parading is over, Glasgow's gays bars have lots of fun events all weekend long.

When it comes to pre-Pride parties in Glasgow, Merchant City gay bar staples, The Riding Room, Delmonica's, The Polo Lounge, Speakeasy and FHQ will come together for Gay Gala 2013, from 7th - 11th of August. Expect five nights of fun and frolics with karaoke, quizzes, cabaret and more (did someone say Bare Butt Butlers?). And finally not to be left out, new kid on the block, Katie's Bar will also be flying the flag with fun events across Pride weekend.

So where you're L, G, B, T or simply a supporter of all four, get out this weekend and fly the flag for gay pride in Glasgow.
