End of Exam Parties in Glasgow

Calling all you sleep deprived, caffeine induced, social recluses of the library. Yes, that’s you, students of Glasgow. Word on the street is that exams are coming to an end, and that means it's nearly time to fling those pens away, slam those laptop screens shut, and rejoice in a celebratory shower of unwanted, overused and crumpled up lecture notes.

We know that being a student has its perks, but those pesky exams are most definitely one of the downsides to undergrad life as the summer heats up in May. So, if you’re a Glasgow student who’s been feeling like a caged animal for the past month or so we've got a rundown of the top summer parties to set you free.

Book a private area at Re-Play and see out your student days in style

Sub Club will be providing the perfect opportunity to let your long-suppressed wild side out, with its ‘Unleash The Beast 90’s Jungle’ event on Thursday 30th May. Promising to quite literally unleash your inner beast with some of the most lethal beats of the 90s, this Frogbeats event encourages a mixed-up, jungle-style dress code for a night of cutting mad shapes and uninhibited behaviour.

To re-live the past semester one last time, head to Octopussy for the final blow-outs of The Arches' most famous and fun-filled student night. Wednesday 29th of May will be one epic end of exams party, while, 5th June will see the club night take its final bow. With the club waving goodbye to the notorious Octo treasures such as the bouncy castle, swimming pool, wedding chapel and giant twister - there’s no excuse not to join the revelry without the fun-sponging burden of exams looming over your head. Customary to tradition, wallet-friendly drinks promotions along with some massive chart and house classics will be in full swing, so you can see the night off and bring in the summer in true Octo style.

An end of an era for one of Glasgow's best loved student nights.

Now, the sun might be slightly on the unreliable side in Glasgow but at Boteco do Brazil you can immerse yourself in some Brazilian carnival vibes, quench your post-exam thirst with some of their tropical cocktails, and soak up some colourful summertime vibes. On Friday 31st of May, Boteco will be bringing in the summer of 2013 with a night of exotic cocktails and drinks promotions from £2, and of course, an exhilarating mix-up of samba, latino, reggaeton, rumba and funk - to get you grooving those pesky exam blues away until the early hours.

The Garage, the spiritual home for many a Glasgow student, is of course throwing some epic summer-starting parties this week. Thursday's Neverland will see a RockNess takeover as the student pre-party kicks off on May 30th. Win tickets to the festival, drink from welly cocktails and have a shot on the bouncy castle. Saturday will an altogether more dreamy affair, as PJ clad revellers can party all night long with the Smirnoff Slumber Fest on 1st June.

Party in your PJs at The Garage with the Smirnoff Slumber Fest this Saturday

And, for all you graduants (FYI that's the name for all you heads between students and graduates) that have just sat your last ever uni exam and fancy a swanky affair to celebrate your impending graduation, there are lots of stylish restaurant bars and exclusive clubs in Glasgow to crack open that well-earned bubbly. Butchershop Bar & Grill in the West End has  a special Graduation Menu to celebrate all of your hard work. Offering a glass of bubbly to get those toasts and clinks in, the Butchershop will serve a three course celebratory lunch or dinner, with a selection of fine cuisine that's more than a few steps up from your usual student fare. For afters book a booth at one of Glasgow's top party clubs like Cirque, Sugar Cube, Re-Play, The Shimmy Club or Kushion

So whether you've sat your fresher exams, or your finals, whether you want to dance or dine, do shots or drink Champagne; pencils down people. It's time to go forth and party.
