There's no doubt about it, our city has a serious love for Nippon nosh. What is it about ramen, nigiri and teppanyaki that just gets our hearts going? Either way, thanks to this lust for East Asian eats, there are plenty of places to get your mitts around it. From relaxed hangouts rustling up sushi burritos to slick hotspots with open fires and premium sake, here are Glasgow's best Japanese restaurants.

Sticks'n'Sushi Glasgow

One of the most beloved Japanese restaurants in the country, Sticks'n'Sushi has opened its first Japanese outpost in Merchant City. This sleek spot features the brand's signature Scandinavian design, with a dark, sultry interior.

There's so much to get stuck into here, from seared salmon nigiri to sweet potato teriyaki skewers and California rolls. Plus, you can expect some seriously delicious cocktails to wash it all down.

Temaki

Temaki? Oh, it's only one of the best Japanese restaurants in Glasgow's city centre. Over there, you'll find banging bento boxes, slurp-worthy ramen and a bevvy of signature dishes. From sushi burritos to katsu curry chips, this place has got us drooling just at the thought.

Nippon Kitchen

Hold on to your hats people, as this one's a bit of an all-rounder. Found on West George Street, Nippon Kitchen offers a scrumptious selection of small plates and sushi, as well as noodle soups, powerful curries and speciality dishes. Plus, the Japanese-inspired cocktails are not to be missed.

Mamasan

Hit up Mamasan for a pan-Asian feast made using top-quality Scottish ingredients, as well as slinky interiors and late-night DJs. Indulge in black pepper and ginger squid or king prawn panko, then go all out by tucking into a miso black cod served with sesame aubergine.
