What they say:
With tacos stuffed with crispy duck leg and battered cod, it doesn't take a genius to work out why El Cartel has been so popular on Thistle Street. Now the causal Mexican restaurant has announced a second opening, taking over a venue on Teviot Place, opposite the university. Details are being kept under wraps but expect the same delicious mix of food and drink, and hopefully the daily changing menu of frozen margaritas.
What we say:
With student-friendly prices and a hit list of tasty dishes and cocktails, El Cartel is bound to be a new favourite with Edinburgh University's population. We can't tell you much about the new spot but here's hoping the menu has many of the same items as the first outpost, with dishes such as chicken wings, ceviche, and pork ribs. Drinks are just as consumable, with the first venue stocking more than 80 types of tequila, mezcal and argarves.
