Criminal Cocktails And Inmates That Serve: Immersive Bar Alcotraz Comes To Cardiff

Alcotraz Cardiff Cell Block Nine-One | DesignMyNight

There’s always a lock-in at Alcotraz: Cell Block Nine-One.

Get ready to party in prison as the famous nationwide immersive cocktail bar is launching in Cardiff. Inspired by cult American TV and films, Alcotraz: Cell Block Nine-One is a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience where orange really is the new black.

This unlawful, boozy bar comes from Inventive Productions, the brains behind London's Wild West-inspired Moonshine Saloon. With four successful locations across the UK including Brighton, Liverpool and Manchester, the secret speakeasy is now laying its roots down in the Brewery Quarter from the 24th November.

There are ten individual cell blocks holding up to 46 convicts, catering for hens, stags, birthdays and beyond. The task is, after creating your criminal record and liaising with ‘bootleggers’, to smuggle liquor past The Warden into the hands of Alcotraz’s longest-serving inmates. It’s their job to then transform the contraband into delicious cocktails. In order to make a prison break, you must warm up to the guards and negotiate your parole, or perhaps even take a trip to the solitary confinement block.

So, what are you waiting for? Zip up your jumpsuit and get behind the bar(s).

Alcotraz: Cell Block Nine-One is now available to book here from the 24th November at Unit 9a, Caroline Street, CF10 1AD. For more like this, sign up to our future Cardiff newsletter.
