MEMORY BAR IS A DOSE OF HUMANITY.
IT’S MEMORY VOYEURISM AND A WAY TO FEEL CONNECTED.
The Society of Cocktails brings something new and peculiar to Brighton in it's latest immersive cocktail evening-
MEMORY BAR.
In this bizarre and touching experience you'll 'taste' the memories of other people which are interpreted as elaborate cocktails and immersive moments. In the secret lounge you'll be invited to choose a real person's memory to experience through taste, sight, sound and smell. This could be caramelized banana wine, served in a cloud of sweet cigar smoke - telling the story of a little girl’s first time tasting a banana brought home by her father returning from war.
Society of Cocktails have partnered with Together Co A Brighton charity that works to give isolated people in the community access to a 'befriender' - through this partnership we've been able to give a platform to people to tell their stories. From each ticket sold we'll be donating a percentage to this amazing charity so it can continue to end loneliness through the city.
Drinks are served inside each memory- after making your choice the softly twinkling room will transform in front of you. In a combination of sound, smell and projection you’ll dreamily float onto a beach in Devon in the rain, or the living room of Liam’s Aunt. Sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking but deeply touching.
As well as tasting the memories of people you might pass on the street we’ve been sending late evenings looking through the Archives of Brighton and Hove. We’ll be bringing you tastes from the past and serving memories and diary entries of those who lived in this city many years ago. Does the memory of a dead man taste different?
Each ticket gives you 90 minutes to experience a kaleidoscope of memories, tasting three bespoke cocktails.

What an incredible experience! So very immersive, drinks were incredible and the theatre was off the charts! As the creators were your guides, their passion for what they do is apparent. I will be returning for the next installment from the Society of Cocktails!!! Cannot wait.

A spectacular spectacle for all your senses. The woodland aroma’s, mood lighting, shadow puppetry and innovative cocktails created a magical atmosphere. Fantastic attention to detail and strong narrative made for an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend, can’t wait to see what this up and coming company do next.
