Great experience all round. Staff were initially a bit reluctant about giving us extra equipment (an extra bowl) to help with our vision, but were helpful in the end. Having a 5 minute warning would have been really helpful towards the end, as we had 10 minutes and then 1 minute which was quite a shock! I would also say the price is quite expensive for what it is, as ultimately we paid £90 to bake our own cake - but it was really really enjoyed so all round, I would recommend this to a friend.

We were really looking forward to our baking experience, having booked pre COVID and travelled from various places across England and Wales to meet up and attend. Unfortunately the event was disappointing (other than being with friends which was excellent). The event is very poor value for money. As we had an odd number we were put into 2x 2’s and a 3. Each group baked a single cake. So effectively £90 for one cake for the pairs and £135 for a single cake between three for the other group! To make it worse we were only given a single box to take it away in and no implements to cut it with. As we had all travelled from different parts of the country that meant four people going home empty handed! The lead chef who led the session (Sasha) stood at the front and rarely came to the back where we had been set up, and neither we nor the so called “helpers” could hear what she said half the time. We were treated like children, not trusted to weigh ingredients out. We couldn’t even add our own food dye ! Half the implements we needed were missing from our drawers so had to be hunted for. And we weren’t told how much of each ingredient we were using so we couldn’t reproduce it at home. Even in high school the children are treated better! Then at the end during the “judging” the lead chef, sounded a cross between bored and sarcastic. An event that has so much potential was unfortunately very disappointing and could easily have been improved by better organisation, and a more considerate lead chef!!
