Class Information:
We are thrilled to have you join us! Welcome to the vibrant,
exciting and fun world of burlesque. Here you are invited and
celebrated to embrace your whole self! You will get to explore your
creativity, learn new things, work on new skills, connect with a
truly wonderful community all in a fun, energy filled, supportive
atmosphere. We value positivity and empowering those that join
us!
We recognise coming to a new class can
be scary! Please contact us with any questions you may have. We
can’t wait to meet you!
Every Monday:
Class 1: 7:30-8:30
Class 2: 8:30-9:30
Each class will be different, and suitable for beginners. On
occasion there may be performance opportunities for class
performances. Please speak to the teacher for further details.
What do the classes involve?
We cover a whole range of burlesque styles and techniques including
Pin Up, Striptease, Chairography, Heels, Comedy, Character,
Floorwork, Classic, Fans, Boas and so much more! They are
designed to bring out your inner divas, step into your power, stand
that bit taller, let your creativity explode… and have a good
laugh! We use lots of different styles of music, reflecting the
diverse and exciting world of Burlesque!
This is not a performance course,
please get in touch if you would like performance support. There
are occasional performance opportunities such as flashmob, pride
parades and fundraiser performances. However, there is never any
pressure to perform.

There is a large car park, plenty of near bus stops and is opposite
Longbridge train station.
About the teacher:
Dominus is a multi-award winning, international powerhouse
performer! As well as one of the most in-demand producers in the
West Midlands. Titled ‘Birmingham’s Queen of Burlesque’, they
hold over a decade of teaching experience comprising of ballroom,
latin, heels and burlesque. Selected credits include: Channel 4,
Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre, Birmingham Pride Festival and
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Holding a fierce commitment to
growing talent, inclusivity and creativity; they thrive with a huge
passion for their love of Burlesque.
F.A.Q’s:
What to wear?
Wear whatever you are comfortable with and can move in. Occasionally, we will use props/items such as gloves, but there is no pressure to have these. Your fabulous self will always be enough! Heels are optional! Please no jeans.

Do I need to have danced before? I am a total
beginner!
If you claim you have two left feet, that is absolutely fine! These
classes are suitable for any level. No dance experience is
necessary. Classes will create challenges and enjoyment for all
levels. We can always suggest alternative movements if there are
any concerns! It is always a good laugh and we are all in the same
boat together!
Will I fit in?
We often get questions asking if someone is too old? Too queer? Is
the class okay for moms? I identify as male? I am neurodiverse? I
am exploring my gender? I have anxiety?
The answer is we want you! We absolutely celebrate these parts of
you in a supportive atmosphere. Everyone has different backstories,
but we are committed to you stepping into your power! Please do
feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or need any
adjustments made. We want you to feel as welcomed as possible!
Photography & Videography:
Occasionally, during class we will get photos and/or videos. These
will be shared into the whatsapp community for anyone that may wish
to practice. On occasion these will be use for social media, but
there is opportunity to step out of any videos/photos if you do not
wish to be in them.
Class Fee Information:
Class fees are non-refundable, unless classes are cancelled by
House of Allure staff. They are non-transferable to other people or
other months.

House of Allure is a diverse cabaret, burlesque and drag collective established in 2017. Trailblazing and a significant pioneer in the drag and burlesque scene in Birmingham. Having sold out all 34 of their shows in the heart of the queer scene, boasting up to five minute standing ovations, leading to critical acclaim. Whether it is through shows or classes, House of Allure has a commitment to celebrating the empowering joy burlesque and drag brings. With a focus on inclusion, creativity and fun! Enforcing the founder’s positive affirmation: ‘You Walk With Thunder!’
They are also the organisers of Birmingham Drag & Burlesque Festival.

T&Cs
1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.
