What they say:

Taking up a space in Brindleyplace, Maribel is the latest eatery to join the area's mixture of fine and casual dining, located at the site which was previously Edmunds. With a kitchen headed up by Michelin-starred chef Richard Turner, formerly of Harborne's Turners at 69, you can expect creativity, style and substance. The eatery have set themselves the task of 'recalibrating' Birmingham's tastebuds, with a variety of tasting menus set to change weekly to reflect seasonal produce and with Michelin-starred chef Turner at the helm, you can rest assured that they will be making good on that promise.

What we say:

Foodies of Birmingham, prepare your palates because there's something very special coming your way. The latest addition to the Brindleyplace restaurant enclave, Maribel is the most intriguing new venue on the city centre restaurant scene. Whether you opt for eight, six or four courses, the tasting menu is sure to whet your appetite. We love the sound of pigeon with beetroot, artichoke, orange, dandelion and burdock, and scallop with watercress, brown shrimp, lemon and nutmeg. Desserts come in the form of a mouth-watering mara des bois with meringue and vanilla rice pudding or chocolate with sea salt, caramel and hazelnut. An exciting addition to the Birmingham dining scene indeed.
