Things are getting fresh at Motiki

Birmingham’s favourite tiki bar menu is getting a makeover. Motiki at The Prince of Wales in Moseley are planning on not only shaking, but stirring things up with a fresh and fruity new menu. I was lucky enough to get the inside scoop from the cheeky Motiki monkeys, Manager Sam and Barman Jack. You will know these guys from the flamboyant Hawaiian shirts and notorious naughtiness behind the bar, which always keeps customers entertained.

Whipping up a fruity storm, as ever, Motiki at The Prince of Wales embark on a tasty new menu.

The new selection will be a combination of the classic menu you have grown to know and love, with the best of the best from a new menu created for cocktail week during last month’s Moseley festival. Using only premium spirits and one of the best rum selections in Birmingham, this cocktail collaboration is sure to be a roaring success. Motiki prides itself on using lashings of fresh fruit, a wide range of spirits and a promise that there is something for everyone at Birmingham’s backyard beach bar. The new menu is going to be top secret until its official launch in September, but here is a little teaser of the new Motiki masterpiece to get your tiki tastebuds tingling…

  • 'Missionary’s Downfall' – Manager Sam recommends…

Made from White rum, apricot brandy and loads of yummy pineapple and lime juices, this missionary is refreshingly sharp and anything but a downfall.

  • 'Frontier Cobbler' – Barman Jack recommends…

Bulliet bourbon based, this cocktail scrumptiously balances maple syrup, crème de mure and fresh lemon and raspberries. And it’s as tasty on the eyes as it is on the tum.

  • 'Kiwi Cooler' – My very own tum recommends…

Invented by Manager Sam this juicy number might actually be good for you….sort of. Full of kiwi, passion fruit, apple, lime, jazzed up with elderflower liqueur and Tanqueray gin, this unique tipple goes down very easily again and again.
