Relive the days when you were young and carefree at Putney's coolest and quirkiest cocktail bar. The Toy Shop delivers a delectable dose of nostalgia as it salutes childhood - in all of its blissful simplicity, the decor shouts bright, comfy and playful. This blast from the past, fun time party bar is open until way past bedtime.

The Toy Shop promises a new combination of dishes using exciting, quality flavours and ingredients. The menu is designed with the ‘sharing’ aspect in mind, and features a signature dish ‘The Toy Shop BBQ’ set to be served on a revolving mini BBQ. Even the bar snacks have their own signature spin; with pear infused brandy cherries and delicious savoury popcorn made with in a selection of flavours, such as bacon and blue cheese or rosemary and lemongrass.

The sharing doesn't stop with the food; The Toy Shop’s cocktail menu dips into the realm of the weird and wonderful with alcoholic ice cubes carved into lego men, fumigated martinis, homemade absinthe wine gums - as well as four signature sharing drinks available in various sizes. The largest of these is the 'House Party', an enormous house complete with smoking chimney and flickering lights in the windows emulating a miniature rave.

This fun loving cocktail bar in Putney is available for private hire and can cater for up to sixty people - private parties can enjoy exclusive use of their own private bar with no hire charge.

The Toy Shop Review

The Toy Shop Review The Toy Shop is a cool and quirky addition to the leafy suburb of Putney in South West London. Upon finding out that some friends of mine lived nearby, I simply had to see what the fuss was about, so I boarded the District Line for a night of fun and fancy cocktails. The...

Great place. I would recommend this as somewhere you would take your friends who aren't from London, as it has the 'wow' factor. Went here for my bf's birthday on a Sat early evening. Booked online for a table at 7pm. We were all ID'd on the door and it was a bit confusing getting in until the waitress realised we were eating and then shown to our table - there was a separate eating area to the bar area. Strangely, it wasn't very busy in the restaurant so service was pretty quick. Drinks were reasonably priced and food matched that. Really thoughtful menu with a nice mix of vegetarian and meat choices, I had the veggie burger, which looked a bit strange and was quite soggy but delicious flavours. Chips are triple cooked and the slaw is yummy, with added little bits of gherkin in it. Others got the buttermilk chicken and said it was delicious. Portion sizes don't look like much at first but, by the end, we were all stuffed and even left some chips. All food was served in metal lunch boxes, the girls loo's had naked Barbie dolls in a glass panel and all décor was really fun, making the whole experience feel a good level of quirky and novel.
My favourite bar in Putney (I'm a local). Love the decor, the cocktails and the munch boxes. Yummy veg options too. Fun place to go any night of the week.
Top spot. Went with group of girls last Sat for din. Been recommended Roast party for my bday in feb- hope is as good as they said!
10% service charge for asking for a menu and the drink to be brought 1cm to the table. No alcohol in the sharers cocktail. Terrible atmosphere - no music whatsoever. Rude staff. ICE COLD.

Agree somewhat with PutneyLocal in terms of delay in getting served because it was so busy but I think that just shows popularity of the place? Could do with more bar staff thats it. Apart from that we had a great time. Read the review here then decided to give it a try. Really quirky and different against the bog standard other putney bars. If it was more central I'd be here every week! Alas it may be a mates birthdays jobby - great place to eat, drink and enjoy a buzzy bar!

As my mum would say, all fur coat and no knickers! Too long to be served, quirky trimmings left off cocktails. Not good value for money
This might be one of the coolest sounding places in London, right now. Can't wait for this to open.
