La Bodega Negra

Description

La Bodega Negra in London is a Mexican taqueria, restaurant and secret speakeasy in the heart of Soho serving delicious snacks like Tortillas and Enchiladas with a few mouth-watering Mexican cocktails thrown in. The creation of Serge Becker (of La Esquina fame in New York) and Will Ricker, this is a hot bar in London to drink and eat the tastiest Mexican bites and delicious cocktails that of course include Frozen Magarita's and Tequila creations. With a New York vibe and style, not forgetting it's true Mexican inspiration and roots, this soho bar is well worth a night out in London. La Bodega can be rather confusing at first, the ground floor offering is very much a laid back cafe and taqueria, with the main bar and restaurant downstairs, and only accessible from Old Compton Street.

The downstairs bar and restaurant is where the magic happens, if you can find it. Step through the Sex shop illuminated on Old Compton Street, and work your way down the stairs to find a secret cocktail drinking and eating den of candle lit tables, a buzzing bar, and clientele all amazed by the fact they knew La Bodega even existed. It is difficult to attend just for drinks, best to come after 11pm for that, otherwise book a table, feast your way through the Mexican inspired menu, take in the lively atmosphere and let the speakeasy vibe whisk you away.
