Perched beneath the unmissable cinema sign on Stoke Newington Road in Dalston, Ruby's is an intimate drinking den renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and exceptional cocktails. Nestled in a former Chinese takeaway, the venue features a network of glazed brick, stripped paint walls, wooden floors and a mish-mash selection of tables, chairs and lampshades to create a truly unique vibe.
Ruby's cocktail menu has been specially designed to compliment the character of the bar, with the signature cocktail Blackberry Mojito served in an original 1940's Manchester milk bottle, and the passion fruit Bison Vodka Juleps served in a tin cup. If cocktails aren't you're thing, there are a selection of ales, lagers and fine wines to choose from.
Ruby's brings something uniquely different to Dalston: rather than the banging DJ bars that have come to populate the strip, Ruby's is an endearing retreat to relax, take in the atmosphere and sample fantastic cocktails. The venue is perfect for a romantic evening or a unique night out with friends accordingly. Charming.

What a lovely old Cinema! said my overly exuberant friend! Look, we found one of those rare gems that probably screen Casablanca, she continueed. Very excited by the existence of such a place, we ventured inside. Well, not only have we not found Casablanca, but we found Some Men Like it Hot. The proper speakeasy bar, tucked away from the indiscret views of the masses, Ruby, greets you with a fabulous selection of spirits, served in ingenious recipients! I am so coming back for my dark rhum breezier cocktail . Please multiply this place!
Perfect for cocktails and one on ones! Great little bar..
Got to be my new favourite cocktail bar in London! Love the decor, staff are lovely and the drinks to die for! Shame its quite far east but worth the trip past Shoreditch!! We went to the nest after for clubbing!! Great night in total
Loved this place. Read the DesignMyNight review and thought to give it a go...and you were bang on! Loved the ambience and the cocktails were delicious. My new favourite cocktail bar I think! If only it were in Soho, I'd be there every night I think!
Went here before visiting The Nest on saturday night. went on the recommendations on this site and wasnt disappointed. Such a cool secret little cocktail bar. You feel really in the know down there but there is not one ounce of pretense. Staff are really friendly and the cocktails were delicious and have a great choice of spirits. There happened to be a hot barman too! Ill be back.
Delighted to find this drinking den! This is what speakeasies should be about! Kinda hidden with no sign outside, a buzz down there of lots of groups huddled up chatting and drinking, friendly staff and a quirky and tasty drinks menu. the perfect place for chilled out drinks, pre drinks or catching up with mates (also good for date night!)
LOVE this place! Went on a saturday night and it is a proper speakeasy! no signage by the door (apart from a v friendly bouncer) and then you head down into this wonderfully cute bar. Shabby cool chic springs to mind! You do kinda need a table as they dont want to overcrowd it so make sure you book! and then they let people in as other people leave! Cocktails in authentic milk bottles and cool teacups (and very tasty). I had a bourbon lemonade served in a mini pint glass which was delicious. Want cool cocktails out north/east then i def recommend chilling down here.
Went here on saturday night, Rubys is fantastic! Had to queue to get in, so would recommend booking ahead, but once down, it was a true speakeasy vibe, great crowd, everyone packed into the little tables, and the bar serving up great cocktails! I loved the Kentucky lemonade! So yummy. So glad I have found this bar.
