A soldier makes a trade with the devil: his violin (his joy, life and soul) for a book that can provide him untold wealth and success... or so he thinks.

Stravinsky’s rhythmic and jazz-bending dance score paired with c.f. Ramuz’s poetic libretto makes the soldier’s tale a memorable work of music, dance and drama.
