Pub tour: a Manchester soul
-
1 review - Jolly Angler
Description
Some of you may know Jim Cullen as blogger Beers Manchester, others as organiser of the successful Independent Salford Beer Festival.
Either way, there's little he doesn't know about the region's beer scene and he is setting off on a pub tour in search of true Mancunian soul.
This tour isn't all about the beer - although great beer will feature - it's more about the venues. In each stop you'll get chance to buy a drink, while your host talks to you about the significance of the venue and a representative from the pub or selected brewery will come along for a chat too.
Drinks are not included in the price of the ticket and you are advised to wear comfortable shoes, as there are a couple of leg stretching walks involved.
The pubs - in order:
- The Jolly Angler - Ducie Street (behind Piccadilly Train Station)
- The Smithfield (Swan Street)
- The Marble Arch (Rochdale Road)
Followed by an optional Metrolink ride to:
- Cask (Liverpool Street)
- The Brink (Bridge Street)
The meeting point is the bottom of Piccadilly Approach at 12pm. All proceeds from this event go to the charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably.
