healthy guts at home and every day
featuring nutritionist Miguel Toribio-Mateas and Instagrammer Misty's Gut Instinct

Nutritionist Miguel Toribio-Mateas sits down with gut health Instagrammer and northener Misty (@mistys_gut_instinct) to talk about how to make easy changes in your day to day that can a make all the difference for your gut health and see big changes as Misty did with herself and her kids. Miguel will be talking about the hard evidence behind gut health and the impact it can have on your mental health too.

Miguel Toribio-Mateas is a Nutrition practitioner with a BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Medicine, registered with the CNHC and a Fellow of BANT. He is also a neuroscientist with an MSc in clinical neuroscience under his belt and an upcoming doctorate in the subject of the gut-brain connection. He runs a private nutritional practice in London where he sees 100s of gut-related cases every year and he also works as a scientist, currently in clinical trials to figure out what happens to your gut and your brain when you have fermented foods. Follow Miguel on Instagram where he posts on gut-brain stuff regularly.

Misty, a 40-year-old wife, mother and business owner was a long time sufferer of eczema but more recently so was her little boy, 3-year-old Otis. One year ago, she embarked her family upon a journey to improve their overall health. That journey was looking into Gut Health! They are slowly making changes & my word, they’ve experienced so many wonderful results. Today, Misty is so passionate about the gut health subject and has made it her mission to share the changes and experiences to get anyone who will listen on board. She believes gut health is the way forward!

The Gut Stuff will be taking over Manchester Technology Center from Wednesday 20th February - Saturday 23rd, so make sure to come by anytime. To find out more about what else is going on, make sure to visit @thegutstuff on Instagram and our website thegutstuff.com

See how our London Old Street Tube take over went: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YphJrh-QJr8

The Gut Stuff was set up after twins Alana and Lisa (aka The Mac Twins, the Love Island DJs) became the “chief guinea pigs” for Professor Tim Spector and the Twin Research department at Kings College. They discovered that despite having 100% the same DNA, their guts have only 40% the same microbiota, which could explain why their bodies behave so differently.
