Skof

Description

Skof, located in Manchester’s NOMA district, is a bold and elegant fine dining restaurant housed in the historic Hanover building - a former Edwardian drapery warehouse. The interior blends industrial heritage with modern sophistication: exposed red brick, steel columns, and black-painted girders are softened by warm lighting and minimalist design. The open kitchen anchors the space, creating a dynamic, interactive atmosphere where chefs and servers fluidly share the storytelling of each dish. With just 36 covers, the space feels intimate yet vibrant, offering a relaxed but refined experience.

The restaurant is the debut solo venture of Tom Barnes, a celebrated chef with a pedigree that includes L’Enclume and Geranium. Since opening in May 2024, Skof has rapidly garnered acclaim, earning a MICHELIN Star in February 2025, Best New Restaurant at the Good Food Guide Awards, Newcomer of the Year at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards, and a top-10 debut in SquareMeal’s Top 100. Barnes, who also won Chef of the Year, brings a deeply personal and seasonal approach to his tasting menus, rooted in British produce and elevated by global technique.
