Mexica

Description

Sat in the growing independent drink and food hub of Ancoats in Manchester is Central American restaurant Mexica.

Reinvented by the same owners of former resident Cutting Room, Mexica has spiced up the space with a hot menu of burritos, nachos and tacos, while the room is illuminated by a colourful interior. Artist Peter Sheridan has covered the venue with spectacular murals, giving it a distinct 'Day Of The Dead' vibe. Accompanied by exposed brickwork and slick furnishings, the interior exemplifies it's commitment to catering to Manchester's iconic nightlife.

The menu embraces Central America's fiery attitude towards flavours, with spice being top of the order. Their burritos come with a series of fillings, featuring pork, shredded chicken, marinated steak, halloumi and vegetables. For smaller, and less spicy, options, they offer dishes like buffalo chicken wings or avocado salad. Mexica also caters to a later night crowd, serving a selection of beers, cocktails, mezcal and tequila.

Mexica follows the traditional of Central American cuisine by not shying away from spices and flavours, and that is reflected in the diverse food.
