A Lunchtime Jaunt To Bangkok

The hottest new Thai restaurant and bar in town Bangkok Bar kindly invited us down to kick start out Christmas feeding frenzy in true Thai style yesterday with an exquisite luncheon showcase of all things delicious. The new glowing bar and restaurant sits a couple of metres down Princess Street in the City Centre, just off Portland Street. A subterranean offering that opens up into a bar, club, restaurant and buffet. We arrived to the host Krin Sirisambhann welcoming us to our table alongside one of the Boys from Bangkok a group that perform as part of the evening's entertainment, giving a brilliant Bangkok legitimacy to the whole place.

Boys of Bangkok Manchester

Live entertainment at the Thai bar and restaurant is provided by the Boys of Bangkok.

We were then treated to a simply fantastic selection of fresh starters and main courses, straight from the a la carte menu. The selection was nothing short of spectacular and oozed oriental spice and flair, with each dish impeccably dressed with hand sculpted carrot flowers and fuschia petals. A true taste of the orient in style and flavour. The opening dishes arrived on the table and included some classic Thai fishcakes, some titillating chicken skewers and a batch of spring rolls that were bursting with deliciously fresh vegetables.

Bangkok Bar Menu

The food at Bangkok Bar is delicious, fragrant and colourful.

If that wasn't enough already, a hot and sour prawn soup was dished out that blew everyone's heads off, with it's rich encompassing flavour and ever-developing levels of heat. By the time main course came out we were prepared to be rolled out of the door and back to the DesignMyNight office, but (for you guys!) we stuck it out through, and were glad we did when we were treated to Thai green curry in a creamy coconut sauce, beef in oyster sauce, chicken Pad Tai and a host of other dishes that were as full of flavour, as we were of food.

Buckets

Keeping it authentic, Bangkok Bar will have cocktails in buckets and full moon parties.

The bar has recently opened and is planning its first Full Moon Party, with plenty of special guests including famous faces such as glamour model, Rhian Sugden, who joined us for lunch yesterday. Expect full blown neon paint, the boys of Bangkok, buckets of booze and big tunes all night from some top draw DJs.  Looks to be a brilliant all-rounder where the people of Manchester can eat, drink and dance the night away every night of the week. Watch this space for more info on Bangkok Bar as we get it.
