Bunny Jackson's Juke Joint

Description

Bunny Jackson’s Juke Joint is a bourbon and blues bar on First Street.

Bunny Jackson’s takes its name from a (possibly made up) 80-year-old man with one leg, one eye, no teeth and a harmonica who ran the old Juke joints in New Orleans. This ridiculous backstory plays into the design, with a shabby aesthetic completed with exposed brickwork, a corrugated metal bar, and a motorbike over the entrance covered in fairy lights. The live music stage, where they host bands on Sundays and Mondays, is caged off by a chain-link fence, while the mezzanine floor has a pool table, beer pong and darts.

The drink of choice is bourbon and whiskey, as well as beers, and a Southern cocktail list. The menu is typically Deep South, with sandwiches, burgers and French dips filled with meat. There’s also hot dogs and chicken wings too.
