What they say:

Found in a Grade II listed building, Roc & Rye plans to combine 1920s glamour with the grit of the industrial north to create a sophisticated yet relaxed drinking environment. The venue’s main offering is cocktails, with a list designed by an award-winning mixologist and brought to you via high-end table service. Hoping to corner both the night and morning audience, they are also supplying specialist, locally-sourced coffee.

What we say:

Roc & Rye’s mission statement is to fuse two normally distinct features – sophistication with unpretentiousness – by reflecting this philosophy through both its design and drinks. The exterior is designed by the architect of Manchester Town Hall, while the interior channels the designer Milo Baughman by creating a forward-thinking space, without the pretentiousness that is normally attached. The drinks menu is also strong, from the local coffee, delicious cocktail list – that, of course, contains a Roc & Rye – and a strong whiskey list.
