
Manchester's most choatic day is returning.
If you've ever watched London's Red Bull Soapbox Race and wished for more of the same chaos, you're in luck.
After a two-year break, Krazy Races is making its return to Manchester this August, bringing a day of outrageous homemade karts, brave (but not always successful) driving manoeuvres, and plenty of absurdity.
What Is Krazy Races 2026?
The event sees amateur teams race hand-built soapbox vehicles down a 350m course packed with twists, turns, obstacles, and even water features. While some teams are chasing the fastest time, others are competing for awards like Best Design, Best Dressed and Best Showmanship. At every event, you can expect creativity, crashes, and chaos.
When Is Krazy Races 2026?
Krazy Races takes place on Sunday the 9th of August, 2026.
The day's schedule includes:
- 10.45am: Opening procession
- 11am–1pm: Morning racing
- 1pm–2pm: Lunch break
- 2pm–4.30pm: Afternoon racing
- 4.30pm–5pm: Top 10 final showdown
- 5pm: Trophy presentation
There will also be street food, traders, family activities, and chances to meet the teams throughout the day.

The event takes place in Stockport town centre. Spectator viewing areas will be located around St Peter's Square and along the race route towards The Plaza.
