Essex Outdoor Cinema brings the cinematic classic Grease to the wonderful Maldon Promenade.

Bring a blanket, bring a picnic, bring your friends and join us for a magical evening under the stars. Join us for an evening of cinema and wonderful pre-show entertainment.

Live Entertainment

We will be opening the night with music to get us in the mood, we also have one of the country's best Grease tribute acts who will be performing live from 8.30pm. We aim to start the film at approximately 9.30pm, please bear with us if we do need to start a little late, as we are reliant on light conditions being right.

Arrival/Parking

If you are arriving by car (parking is free to EOC customers) please use the main car park. We will be located down by the model boating lake (look for our giant screen or just follow the signs).

Other Stuff..

We will have portaloo’s setup on site in case anyone is caught short!

We have booked a nice warm evening, but when the sun does go down it can get chilly, so please do dress accordingly (Layers are a must!).

Please also feel free to bring chairs if you don't fancy sitting on picnic blankets. If it does rain, the event still goes ahead, we'd definitely advise recommend chairs instead of blankets. We will have ponchos available for those in real need.

We’ll have Essex Medics on site for the duration should they be needed for any reason.

And Finally

We are only able to stage these events with the help and understanding of the numerous neighbours that we have around our venues, with this in mind please be considerate when leaving the site, please leave the site as tidy as you find it.

This night of film and entertainment is brought to you by Essex Outdoor Cinema.

Tickets are subject to booking fee and can be purchased through our partners at designmynight

Quite unorganised it seemed on the night- no one clarifying where to park and no indication that the white van was going to remain there the whole time (a sign would have helped) - we had to move as the movie began. Shame the picture was not using the full size of the screen. Food vans were great - but they missed a trick not having a concessions/sweets stand. Would have been great to have had a cocktail bar as well as it was only coffee or craft ales, and prosecco/Pimms. Would definitely go again - it was nice to sit in the open air and watch a classic film. It was also hilarious to watch the *very* drunk people dancing to the songs. Brilliant night, had a great view of the screen (just made sure we weren't right behind the projector van). Music before the film was a nice touch and the weather was even sunny!! The only downside was the toilets, which had no lights so you just had to make sure you went before it got really dark. Overall a great evening and worth the money. The white van was right in the way of the main screen which was frustrating, I assume this housed the projector, but is there not another option? Because of this, it seemed they had to make the size of the picture smaller than the screen which was a shame as the picture had the potential of being 50% larger. Most of the toilets had no lights in them so people couldn't even see to lock the doors which was embarrassing. Some people were passed stick lights but should have been some lighting in the toilets to start with. I used them halfway through the film and there was no toilet roll and they were dirty. Its a shame that after being given a black bag for rubbish on entry that a lot of people just decided to leave all their rubbish on the floors - really disappointing to see. Other than that we really enjoyed the evening, and the food stalls were a lot better than last year, a great improvement. Rachel visited Maldon Promenade Park on 13 Feb 2016

Disappointed as the white van was positioned right in front of the screen so we had to move to able to see the screen and also there was a technical issue with the size of the picture on the screen. The technitions were unable to use the whole screen so the picture did not cover the full screen which was disappoiting Joanne visited Maldon Promenade Park on 09 Feb 2016

Great night, lovely evening had by all. Delicious food available. Warm-up act was fun and got people up and dancing before the film started. Wish we'd brought the children along as they would have loved the whole thing. Maybe next time! hevvywevs visited Maldon Promenade Park on 13 Apr 2016

Fantastic evening! View and sound was perfect and the atmosphere was great. Plenty of clean toilets and near to the car park. Chairs and prosecco is all that's needed. Would highly recommend. Lucinda visited Maldon Promenade Park on 03 Apr 2016

Brilliant. The weather was too. Danny and Sandy's act pre Grease was great too. I took my granddaughter and it was her first experience of this sort of thing (she's 11) and she loved it Sue visited Maldon Promenade Park on 20 May 2016

The event was great but the only down side was there should have been stewards to point people in the right direction. We didn't think it was signed enough and when the film finished our driver couldn't get in the gates so we had a bit of a nightmare trying to find him. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed it and would go again. Would recommend it!! Karen visited Maldon Promenade Park on 02 Feb 2016

The film, facilities and food/drink vendors were brilliant. Would really recommend for a lovely night out. Only thing we really didn't enjoy was the singing act! No need for it and a tad too cheesy/cheap. Collette visited Maldon Promenade Park on 31 Jan 2016
