Description
For over four years London-based catering company Basement Galley has hosted their flagship dining experience "The Underground Supper Club" in one of London's most unique venues, a decommissioned 1967 London Underground carriage.
Up until May we are running our 4-course tasting menus encompassing some really unique but oh so tasty flavour combinations. Head Chef Alex Cooper's motto is "fine dining that fills you up" - and that is exactly what to expect. Along with a great meal, you'll be able to enjoy a great wine list compiled by our Beverage Manager - trust us, we've tried them all!
As spring rolls around we'll be slightly altering our menu to make use of the improving weather and Chef will be serving up some delicious Grillhouse specials all sourced from London's finest butchers in Smithfield Market. And if you're veggie, fear not: this will be the best BBQ you've ever had. See our Steak & Grillhouse event for more details.
FAQ:
Do you cater for dietary requirements? Yes. There is a section for that when you buy your ticket. Chefs at the Underground Supper Club can cater for most religious or allergy requirements as long as they know in advance; otherwise they won't be able to cater for you on the night.
Is there a dress code? No. Please feel comfortable. Some people like to dress up a bit but others choose the t-shirt and jeans options. We just want you to enjoy your evening!
Is this a BYOB event? Yes. Feel free to bring a bottle or indeed something stronger - we recommend Chase Distillery - and we can provide some great Fevertree mixers and softs!
Does the tube carriage move? Sadly not. Even though the photos might suggest otherwise, the decommissioned 1967 Victoria Line carriage is completely stationary at the Pump House Museum in Walthamstow.
Is the tube carriage heated? Yes. However, during the winter months you may wish to wear something a little warmer should a draft slip through. If you need a little more warmth, then ask us for one of our cosy red blankets....or hit the bar!
Will I be sitting next to people I know? Sort of. Despite silver service and high-end food, it's a supper club, NOT a restaurant. The organisers will try to accommodate people who book together close to each other, but please be prepared for sitting next to the odd stranger as well due to the layout of the carriage: it's been proven time and time again that guests who get to know fellow diners in this way get the most out of the evening! If you would prefer some privacy, we recommend booking one of our tables of 4 or VIP Booths.
What is the cancellation policy? Bookings can be cancelled up to 7 days before the event. A new transfer to a new date can be requested. Refunds can only be given if the cancelled ticket can be resold. No refunds can me made if the ticket is cancelled with less than 7 days to go before the event. No refunds or booking transfer can be made on the day of the original booking. Transfers and refunds are made at the discretion of Basement Galley management.
