Join us for a special event to celebrate the launch of Alan Moore's epic book, 'The Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic'.

In conversation with writer and occult scholar Gary Lachman, ALAN MOORE will discuss his latest work.  This book, developed over nearly two decades, is the result of the creative partnership between Alan   and his mentor Steve Moore, the writer of 2000AD and Doctor Who.

It explores the realms of magic and the occult through a blend of prose, illustration, and sequential art from five talented artists  and is a clear and practical grimoire of the occult sciences that offers endless necromantic fun for all the family.

Alan is widely recognised as one of the best comic book writers in the English language with works like From Hell, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Killing Joke, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Swamp Thing. He's the author of modern literary classics, including Jerusalem, a 1,266-page experimental epic novel, that have led to his legendary status and critical acclaim. He is also an occultist, a ceremonial magician and an anarchist.

Advance copies of The Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic Knockabout Comics will be available on the night.  It promises to reveal the secrets of the Moon and Serpent Grand Egyptian Theatre of Marvels, a storied institution of magic since circa 150 AD. The book includes contributions from the late Kevin O’Neill, John Coulthart, Steve Parkhouse, Rick Veitch, and Ben Wickey, offering both practical insights and visual artistry.

While Alan will not be physically present in the room with Gary, he will join us live virtually via Zoom.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear from two respected figures in the world of magic and the occult.

Absolutely fascinating and entertaining night! We learned so much, the actors really brought it to life in a creative way, and the wine was flowing.

Jenny hosted a brilliant discussion on the neuroscience of zombies, exploring their historical roots in mythology to pop-culture representations, with wit and sensitivity. Her assessment of the scientific rationale behind different zombie outbreaks was charmingly morbid, and a perfect way to cap off the London Month of the Dead!
