Sean A. Pritchard In Conversation with Butter Wakefield
- £20 per person including a glass of Champagne or garden-inspired mocktail
Join us at Number Sixteen in South Kensington for an intimate evening with author Sean A. Pritchard, in celebration of his new book Atmosfloric. In The Orangery, overlooking the hotel’s peaceful private garden, Sean will be discussing this new project with fellow garden designer Butter Wakefield.
Atmosfloric is a fascination with colour. An exploration of the ways in which the kaleidoscope of tints, tones and shades that the garden produces coalesce to create worlds that take us, even if just for a moment, away from the predictability of everyday life. The hope is that readers might look again at flower colour and consider how they too can make their lives that bit more atmosfloric.
During this talk, Sean will begin with a general review of
colour theory and how it relates to the garden, before moving to
look specifically at the three colour moods of romance, energy and
reflection: how do flower colours interact not only with each other
but also surrounding objects to evoke these atmospheres? Using
locations featured in the book as an illustrative guide, Sean will
discuss with Butter the opportunities, challenges and surprises
that working with flower colour presents both in the garden and in
the home.
The talk will start promptly at 6.30pm and will be followed by
a Q&A and a chance to meet Sean and Butter and have your book
signed. Books will be available to buy on the evening via
BookBar.

ABOUT BUTTER WAKEFIELD
Butter trained at the English Gardening School and later
graduated from the London College of Garden Design. Butter began
her career as an interior design assistant at Colefax and Fowler on

took hold as she learned about scale, texture, pattern, colour and
the principles and practices of design. She later established her
own studio, Butter Wakefield Garden Design, a small design studio
offering a unique and personal service. Butter has over 15 years of
experience creating thoughtful and inspiring gardens of all sizes
