For those of us who wish to live forever without the inconvenience of dying in the meantime there is gene therapy. Gene therapy is designed to treat that most pernicious and all-pervasive disease of them all - ageing. Telomerase therapy is a procedure designed to reduce the biological age of cells by stimulating the production of telomerase, a protein that lengthens the telomeres in the chromosomes.
Despite the scepticism of much of the scientific establishment, Elizabeth Parish has put her money where her mouth is and undergone telomerase therapy that has (in theory) already extended her life by 20 years. In her talk she will share her experiences, hopes and dreams for this contentious treatement.
Elizabeth (Liz) Parrish is the CEO of BioViva, a biotechnology company that focuses on developing gene therapies, and other regenerative therapies, to intervene with human ageing. She is a founding member of the International Longevity Alliance (ILA). She is an affiliated member of the Complex Biological Systems Alliance (CBSA), which is a unique platform for Mensa based, highly gifted persons who advance scientific discourse and discovery.
