Saxophonist Duncan Eagles pilots his ever-evolving band Partikel through its most successful year so far, with extensive touring and a fourth and most ambitious album to date, playing ‘brave and imaginative compositions enhanced by bravura performance’ (All About Jazz). Since their recording debut in 2012, Partikel’s sound has climbed to new heights – their latest project Counteraction sees the core acoustic trio enhanced by subtle electronic shades and the textures of Ant Law’s guitar.

Partikel launched their fourth album "Counteraction" this year adding UK guitarist Ant Law to their lineup. They spent 2016 touring extensively and develpoing the music that eventually made it onto the album. This CD documents their explorations into the more electronic side of music whilst maintaining their exciting and high energy approach. There has been lots of playing touring the new music around the UK and Europe including a great gig at the JazzAhead Festival in Bremen, Germany. Partikel were also nominated for a Parliamentary Jazz Award for 'Ensemble of the Year' alongside 'Phronesis' and 'Binker and Moses'.
