Acclaimed Australian singer Lily Dior brings her exciting blend of jazz and soul

to Toulouse Lautrec for this year’s EFG London Jazz Festival

After a dynamic year showcasing her soulful vocals at The Hideaway, guesting at Ronnie Scott's with Wild Card, an amazing night with jazz legends Jim Mullen, Gareth Williams and Enzo Zirilli at 606, as well as shows at Pizza Express and Crazy Coq's Live At Zedel with her band.

Lily will be showcasing songs from her current album 'Let's Talk About It' as well as a selection of fabulous jazz arrangements with a world class band led by pianist extraordinaire Tim Lapthorn with soulful guitarist Al Cherry and supported by the fabulous rhythm section of Simon Lea on drums and dynamic bassist Neville Malcolm.

"There’s an attention to detail in the arrangements and a beauty in the vocals that make this an album I’ll certainly be coming back to again."
Kind of Jazz

Lily has been making quite a splash on the London scene for the last couple of years performing at many of London's finest venues and has steadily built an avid following amongst local audiences as well as many positive reviews.

Lily Dior - Vocals
Tim Lapthorn - Piano
Neville Malcolm - Bass
Al Cherry - Guitar
Simon Lea - Drums

Recognised as one of Australia’s finest singers, Lily Dior has shared the stage with a remarkable list of outstanding musicians from Australia and around the world and has performed at many of Australia's best venues including The Opera House Concert Hall, The State Theatre and the Sydney Town Hall. A finalist at The National Jazz Awards she is also an experienced radio personality and three time host of The Freedman Fellowship Jazz Awards held yearly at The Studio, Sydney Opera House.

The daughter of professional musicians who met and married in London, Lily spent her first five years touring the world with her parents who later settled in Australia. Returning to her roots Lily has very quickly established herself as an in demand performer appearing regularly at iconic jazz venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, The 606 Club, The Bull’s Head and Pizza Express. She is a regular guest at The Hideaway, having recently performed an Aretha Franklin show for three nights with Janette Mason and Mary Pearce, and was invited to perform at The Budapest Jazz Club last year.

"Dior makes a valuable addition to the London jazz scene. Her lyric voice, at times tender, at others forceful, is pure and clear, and her pitch spot on throughout. Her singing seems to tap into her innermost feelings; it comes from her memories and soul, beautifully conveying each song’s significance. Furthermore, she fills the stage in a graceful and effortless manner and has a great understanding of and working relationship with her band."
Thanasis Kalantzis, Cabaret Scenes

"Since Australian vocalist Lily Dior arrived on the London scene she's been going from strength to strength and amassing a reputation as an exciting live performer and versatile singer who works across genres including jazz, groove and soul"
606 Jazz Club

"The vocals were performed by another new collaborator, Lily Dior. She combined ultra-precise articulation with an irresistibly sultry, yearning tone that gave her pieces some welcome breathing space after the pedal-to-the-metal instrumental numbers."
Matthew Wright, Jazzwise
