YUNGMORPHEUS is a rapper and record producer, originally from Miami but now based in LA. His music intertwines personal lyrics with socio-political themes, and tongue in cheek humour for good measure. This year he's had a prolific run, dropping three albums - Affable With Pointed Teeth on Lex Records, Thumbing Thru Foliage on Bad Taste, and States Of Precarity. He's collaborated with Pink Siifu, Eyedress, Fly Anakin, Koncept Jack$on and Ohbliv. Supported by Pitchfork, Spin Magazine, Okayplayer, Dummy, Bandcamp, Tiny Mix Tapes, BBC6 Music, Dublab, NTS and Worldwide FM.

Obijuan is an internationally based, solo Bahamian hip hop artist and one half of the cloak-and-dagger recording duo languid.oceans alongside looms. Born in Nassau on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas, Obi was raised in between the city and the family islands. Fully immersed in West Indian & American culture, hip hop and music in general has been a prominent influence in Obi's life since birth. In 2019 Obi made his first official mark on the underground with 'THE KING'S WISHES'; a record produced by noteworthy New Jersey based artist, GRiMM Doza. It was the first collaboration with Bad Taste, and continuing to work together across a range of different EPs and album projects since.

It would have been good to know that Hackney Social is based in a warehouse as it was cold for the guests and seating options weren't very comfortable. That said the event was very inspiring in promoting representation on black women in the art's. I was left feeling uplifted and thankful to be a black woman working to make changes In society
