Awards Season is here, so Backyard Cinema have hand picked some of the stand out movies of the year and are screening them for you in style. Don't even think about watching these at home, have a night to remember watching them in style, with a firm nod to traditional cinema and a sprinkle of award season luxury thrown in.
Set 29 floors above London you will arrive on the red carpet before being whisked upstairs to enjoy not only a celebration of film but of London as you gaze out upon all your favourite landmarks. Champagne, cocktails and food will be served in style as you await to be called by your traditional Backyard Cinema 1950's Usherette for the screening.
Posh popcorn and ice cream will be on offer as well as an introduction to the film, a series of shorts & retro trailers to get you in the mood for Cinema as it should be.
Theory of Everything
Eddie Redmayne really does deserve to take home the gold on this one, as throughout this heart warming and tear jerking tale it is often easy to forget you are watching an actor and not a documentary. Slumped in his electric wheelchair with only subtle twitches and glazed eyes to convey a feeling, we hear every ‘word’ and feel every bit of frustration Hawking must have felt throughout his life.
Felicity Jones’ performance communicates the subtle sense that Jane thought she could endure the short life sentence Hawking was initially given but begins to quail when she realises that he will survive decades more, steadily needing more and more care. These two extraordinarily intelligent people display a mutual respect and consideration, even as their marriage threatens to fail, that would put many more traditionally successful marriages to shame.
In short The Theory of Everything is a compassionate and inspiring look at an extraordinary life, anchored by two of the best performances of the year. Our monies on Eddie needing to put up a few new shelves for the awards he is about to receive and rightly so.

4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
