Description
Join us at West London Wine School as we explore two fantastic New World wine producing countries.
Part One – New Zealand
Marlborough is a small region conquering the wine world by storm. The punchy and complex Sauvignon Blanc from here always delivers and has won the hearts of many a wine enthusiast, whilst Pinot Gris is often lauded as better here than it is in France. But the best kept secrets are their own expressions of (especially) Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. In this session we dive into these newcomers on the UK market in order to understand what makes New Zealand such an attractive proposition at the moment.
Part Two – Australia
Ample sunshine and favoured climatic conditions mean Australia can often produce quality on a regular basis. This consistency guarantee delivers assurance to many wine drinkers across the world and has been pivotal in Australia’s rise to international stardom. From the big, spicy and powerful Shiraz to the full and ripe Cabernet Sauvignons their reds offer great value for money whilst their whites, such as Chardonnay, are rich, ripe and rounded and Viognier is perfumed and aromatic. But are these wines too hot to handle? Too intense and alcoholic or well-balanced? It’s time to investigate!
All tastings include: minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, use of professional tastings glasses and nibbles.
