WHAT IS ECSTATIC DANCE?
ED is a type of free-form dancing inviting people to connect to themselves and to others through music and movement. It takes places over a 2-hour live DJ set and starts and finishes with a short opening and closing circle led by a Ceremony Leader. There are no teacher or rules, but we ask you to follow a few guidelines:
1. No talking. ED is a silent practice -you are welcome to communicate with others with your body language, but please keep words outside the space.
2. No shoes. Barefoot dancing helps us ground ourselves by creating direct contact between our feet and the floor. ED is best practiced barefoot but you can also wear socks if you wish to.
3. No drugs/alcohol. ED is a conscious practice embracing mindfulness.
4. Phone-free zone. Please keep your phones off/silent and out of sight.
5. Respect of self and other. We ask participants to take responsability for themselves, but also to watch out for others and be mindful of their personal space.
Q&A
-What to bring? You will most likely sweat, so bring a (reusable) water bottle and a travel/camping mug for the complimentary herbal tea
-What to wear? Dress in layers, you will get hot and sweaty -especially in summer! Our events are judgement-free spaces, so feel free to dress however you wish, whether it's a t-shirt and leggings or a fully-sequined catsuit. As long as you're comfortable, anything goes!
-What kind of music? ED music is eclectic and not linked to any specific genre. We start with ambient, chillout tunes then bring you on an ecstatic journey with electronica, EDM, world music and ethnic beats before bringing you back down with downtempo tracks and finish with a gentle sound bath.
-Are children allowed? Yes our events are kids-friendly and under 12s can come for free! We recommend ear protection as the music can get loud. Teens between 13-16 get half-price (£7.50 on the door).
-What is your refund policy? We don't offer any refunds, but we can transfer your ticket to a future event if you notify us up to 48 hours before the event.
THE CAFÉ
The Old Baths Café is open from 9.30 am. You are most welcomed to stay over after the event for a well-deserved post-dance lunch and make new friends.

Ecstatic Dance UK
Ecstatic Dance UK is London's first and only Sunday morning dance. Our mission is to create a safe, sacred space for people to come and express themselves through movement—regardless of age, gender, background or social status. We aim to make Ecstatic Dance accessible to everyone. We believe dancing is a form of therapy which can help us connect to ourselves and to others. We embrace inclusivity, freedom of expression, openness and positivity. Come and dance with us!
T&Cs
1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. We regret that tickets cannot be refunded after purchase. They can be transferred to a future date if given a notice of at least 48 hours.
7. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
8. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
9. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
10. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
