BARZILIA AFTER DARK: A 1970s BRAZILIAN GROOVE NIGHT
A late-night detour into a different side of Brazil… without leaving South London.
Forget postcards, carnival clichés and beach-bar playlists. Barzilia After Dark is inspired by another Brazil entirely, one of smoky bars, late-night conversations, tropical modernism and the warm pulse of 1970s sound drifting long into the evening.
For one night only, Mode transforms into a low-lit gathering inspired by the lesser-seen corners of Brazilian culture — where atmosphere, rhythm and discovery do most of the talking.
Expect a carefully curated soundtrack of samba rock, Rio soul, bossa nova and tropical grooves, nodding to the timeless sounds of Jorge Ben, Marcos Valle, Tim Maia and the rich musical landscapes of 1970s Brazil. Think warm vinyl energy, deep grooves and the feeling of stumbling into somewhere you wish you’d known about years ago.
Behind the bar, expect exclusive Brazilian cocktails and mocktails, including one-night-only creations inspired by travel, flavour and discovery. Think less standard cocktail menu, more Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown meets Around the World in 80 Drinks. Alongside this, a selection of Brazilian snacks will be available throughout the evening.
This isn’t your typical Brazilian night.
Think less Rio postcard, more hidden Brasília after midnight.
No pressure. No pretence. Just good music, warm light, interesting drinks and the strange feeling that, for a few hours, South London quietly disappeared and somewhere else took its place.
A welcome drink is included with every ticket.
1970s clothing is encouraged — whether that’s full vintage, relaxed tailoring or just a subtle nod to the era. There’ll also be prizes for both best dressed and worst dressed, because this is meant to be fun, not serious.

3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.
