We’re extremely excited and honoured to present this special one off talk in conjunction with this year’s Peckham Festival. Print artist The Fandangoe Kid, the team at Life Death Whatever and Fran Hall, CEO of the Good Funeral Guide, will discuss the role of death as part of a panel conversation, reimagining the subject matter and challenging the taboo around it. The talk will run from 5pm to 6.30pm and everyone who attends will receive a limited edition Fandangoe Kid screen print, refreshments will also be provided.

About The Fandangoe Kid

Artist The Fandangoe Kid has used her creative practice to process an enormous traumatic loss of family, and processing this and unlocking the grief remains a key driving force in her work. Having experienced society’s discomfort with talking about death and loss when trying to come to terms with her own bereavement, The Fandangoe Kid seeks to use her practice as a platform for unearthing conversations around the vast and complex subject of grief, something that will affect us all, yet something we are still so ill equipped at handling. The Fandangoe Kid’s main remit is to challenge social taboos and encourage emotional honesty through her narrative driven large scale installations. You can see more of her work on her website: www.fandangoekid.com and instagram/twitter @fandangoekid.

About Life Death Whatever

Life Death Whatever are Anna, an end-of-life doula and Louise, a progressive funeral director. Their joint mission is to redesign the dialogue around death and dying, to open it up and to find new approaches to this important subject. They believe that death is a normal part of life and dying is part of living. Acknowledging and accepting that one day we will die is fundamental to living a full life and that it’s as simple and as complicated as that. More information about the work of Life Death Whatever can be found here: www.lifedeathwhatever.com

About Fran Hall

The GFG is wholly independent of the funeral industry and is dedicated to supporting, empowering and representing the interests of dying and bereaved people living in the UK. The GFG offers loads of information on its website www.goodfuneralguide.co.uk, runs an accreditation scheme for funeral directors and set up and facilitates the Good Funeral Guild, an informal networking organisation for people who share the aims of improving the way we do funerals in this country.
